    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

um me , the guy was physical , and shot way over 50% in college and rebounded like crazy for like the number one team in the nation. If you were honest about that duke team, Boozer was a winner.

same way with Brand. Brand was the meanest player i had seen around the basket since glenn robinson , and Brand outweighs Robinson by enough to make a mean streak hurt. Put a ball in the paint , Brand is quick like a bear he will grab it and be mean about putting it in the hoop. Being 6'8" doesnt stop you from being the powerforward if your that good.

People just like to hate on duke players and come up with bogus reasons "why not" too much when your better off just comparing the draft field on what you do know. Its like that guy Iugudola that philly drafted - no one knows if he will be near an allstar level , but a guy like boozer is a lock to be near an allstar level if he gets enough minutes to have his 9.? rebounds per..

however i did call out Laetner when he was a senior , and loudly booed the fact that the first (and only to that point) dream team had Laetner as its college rep , rather then the much more qualified in my opinion player Shaq. Most fans said "laetner last second shot blah blah" and never listened.

again with the duke guys you have to bury the hate and look honestly at whut they could do , Coach K will get the most he can out of guys and if someone kills boards at duke - they might gonna kill boards in The League

You could pump out stats of Duke players for the past 10 years and get great collegiate stats. Means nothing at the pro-level.

Christine Duhon has Mateen Cleaves written all over him.

diesel- it's tougher for guards to make the transition to the pro level than big men. If Boozer played out West, who knows what would've happened having to go against the Duncan's, KGs, Nowitzki's, etc. every night.

Duhon can come in the game and handle the ball off the bench. He is way more comfortable at the point in nba-level high intensity situations then most of the point guards in the draft. Hes big enough to play point in The League , unlike guys like Mateen Cleaves who isn't fast enough or tall enough or explosive enough to create a shot vs good defense and not only that hasn't shown the ability to hit NBA 3s or 18foot jumpshots with consistency. Cleaves is more comparable to Jameer Nelson - But Nelson can shoot with a hand in his face.

Boozer averaged about the same numbers in 33games vs the Western Conference last season.
15.5Points and 11.4 Rebounds for the Cavs is a solid player in either league

He can definately shoot but college ball is a lot different from the NBA. A lot more set shots and open jumpers to try and break the zone defense. He can definatly shoot but the NBA is just WAY too different (becuase it is A LOT more difficult and more shots are contested) to have college percentages compared to NBA percentages. I agree though, definately a great shooter.

the only reason hes a "project" is because hes from duke. the only reason everyone makes a big deal about duke being busts is because umm lets see they have put out since 85 23 first rd draft picks 2nd only to zona which has had 24. of course there will be a radar on everyone of them. Yes, you can cite the whole litany of rough breaks that have happened -- Bobby Hurley's car accident, Grant Hill's health problems, Jay Williams' motorcycle accident. But when you take the frequency of incidents like that against the sheer numbers of players Duke has sent to the NBA, I don't think the statistical frequency is any greater than that of most any other school with alumni in the pros. What I do think is that the public's familiarity with Duke teams in the Coach K-Internet-ESPN era has become so great that it magnifies everything any Duke player does in the NBA. Any student-athlete who is accepted into that program knows that at least 27 or 28 of his games every season will be on national TV, and how many other schools can you say that about? Maybe three -- Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina -- or four, if you count UCLA when it's doing well. But even then, there is something special in the minds of many about Duke. If the only criterion of success in the NBA is winning a championship each season, then more than 90 percent of the players in the league do not succeed every year. Aren't 13- or 14-year careers like Danny Ferry or Christian Laettner successes? And what about the new contracts of Elton Brand and Corey Maggette? Tens of millions of dollars. Isn't that NBA success? And what about the enormous upside and potential of players like Shane Battier and Carlos Boozer?

the only reason hes a "project" is because hes from duke. the only reason everyone makes a big deal about duke being busts is because umm lets see they have put out since 85 23 first rd draft picks 2nd only to zona which has had 24. of course there will be a radar on everyone of them.
