I don't understand why Deng is considered a project. The guy was a beast on Duke and had to be game planned against every game. Now he is a project and has no game? I don't know, he was impressive every time I saw him

the only reason hes a "project" is because hes from duke. the only reason everyone makes a big deal about duke being busts is because umm lets see they have put out since 85 23 first rd draft picks 2nd only to zona which has had 24. of course there will be a radar on everyone of them. Yes, you can cite the whole litany of rough breaks that have happened -- Bobby Hurley's car accident, Grant Hill's health problems, Jay Williams' motorcycle accident. But when you take the frequency of incidents like that against the sheer numbers of players Duke has sent to the NBA, I don't think the statistical frequency is any greater than that of most any other school with alumni in the pros. What I do think is that the public's familiarity with Duke teams in the Coach K-Internet-ESPN era has become so great that it magnifies everything any Duke player does in the NBA. Any student-athlete who is accepted into that program knows that at least 27 or 28 of his games every season will be on national TV, and how many other schools can you say that about? Maybe three -- Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina -- or four, if you count UCLA when it's doing well. But even then, there is something special in the minds of many about Duke. If the only criterion of success in the NBA is winning a championship each season, then more than 90 percent of the players in the league do not succeed every year. Aren't 13- or 14-year careers like Danny Ferry or Christian Laettner successes? And what about the new contracts of Elton Brand and Corey Maggette? Tens of millions of dollars. Isn't that NBA success? And what about the enormous upside and potential of players like Shane Battier and Carlos Boozer?

) , but I will admit that Duhon is a SOLID player and is a winner. He has great ball handling skills, plays good D, and is a leader. He probrably wont be a star in the NBA, but I think he will be a nice roll player for the bulls (if they keep him)
