Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Deandre Jordan is a good player but I wouldn't drink his kool-aid like these NBA teams are about to.
Now theirs a report about him wanting a bigger offensive role like he's some great post up player. No way I give him a contract telling him we'll give him the touches he may want.Comment

Here's the deal, does any other team have Chris Paul to feed him? No. And he knows that. So if he's going to join a team that wants him, he needs to know he's a offensive focus or he will get lost on that end of the court. Forgotten because he has no other offensive options.
To me, if that's true, that he wants a bigger focus on O, he's going back to LA where he knows his role and knows Paul will satisfy him.

That's an odd request and something that seems to be coming out of their camp only as incentive for a team to push him to take less money.

Around the league, executives believe the Lakers are pursuing space to offer free agent deals to LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan.

Kevin Pelton tweeted they'd need to trade every player outside of Kobe to clear two max slots. Unless someone's taking a pay cut, I can't see how this happens.

Not saying this will ever happen, but they could trade Kobe and have the 2 open max slots.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Maybe I'm the only one, but I actually think Jordan could do well with a slightly larger offensive role. His offensive game isn't that developed, but lots of quick moves: drop steps, closer face ups, things of that nature I could see him thriving with.. Somewhat of a smaller scale Dwight back in his Orlando days. I could see Jordan averaging a consistent 18ppg on 8-10 shots a night. And for a team like Dallas who has zero options, as far as post scoring goes, he could be a good addition and give them an extra look in the half court sets.
Regardless of scoring he would definitely help the Mavs with rebounding and defense, I would consider him a big upgrade over Chandler. In the games Blake missed the past year Jordan average 14ppg and 19rpg on just 7 shots.
His biggest issue is that he's at such an athletic advantage that teams immediately foul if he's within a few feet of the rim. He's got to at least get that percentage up to 60ish for him to have a chance to flourish more as a low post scorer.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
EDIT: The more I think about it the less sense it makes. Clarkson would be an UFA after this year and Nick Young would be on the books for 2 more years. Nevermind lolLast edited by cavsfan2; 06-30-2015, 07:11 PM.Comment

Nick Young lol. Trading for Haywood doesn't make sense for us unless it comes with an asset because we don't need to clear cap space.GT: assassinK24Comment

No need for him to be trying to face guys up and/or take them off the dribble, especially if he's going to be playing in Dallas or back in LA again.
Offensively, he's not going to get that much better than he already is.#RespectTheCultureComment

If he's going to average 18 on 10 shots, it should be ALL on alley oops and put backs, like he's been doing for most of his career.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think that? Not that I'm agreeing or disagreeing.
He's young. He's more athletic than basically every other center. He's got great length.
I dont think its a stretch to see him more involved offensively. I remember back last year 2013-14, it seemed like they were making an effort to get him post touches in the beginning of the season. The Clipps commentators brought up how much better he looked in the post. And back then, I remember agreeing. He looked good.
But as the year went on, they just settled back on PnR with CP3 and posting up Blake. And that was the end of that. LolComment
