    oh yea he can still play, and Eddie will take and make a ton of 3s this year if everyone stays healthy.

    They still have Rasual Butler? - thats another pretty good 3pt shooter.

    after those 4 guys(^^+wade/shaq) , the rest just do some dirty work and they romp that division and are a formidable playoff team.

        Last year, most of the fault is on Kobe and Phil (mainly Kobe).

        The year before, it was basically all Shaq.

            No, it wasn't Kobe's fault. Kobe works his *** off every offseason and comes into training camp in better shape and a better player then the year before.

            Shaq did nothing in the offseason and would come in about 40 pounds overweight. You saw the results of this in the NBA Finals. Ben Wallace, who is 5 inches and 80 pounds lighter, outplayed him. That's ridiculous. That's why the Lakers lost the Finals.

            As I said earlier, every Laker fan should despise Shaq now. He didn't give his best effort the past few years, and it's unforgivable. I hope, and suspect, that on Christmas Day in LA, he'll be booed loudly. But, I also suspect, that he might come up with a bogus injury to get out of playing. We'll see.

                    Ben Wallace did not outplay Shaq, and Kobe was the one who screwed the team in the finals. The Lakers didnt have a chance after Malone went out, and Kobe didnt want to give the ball up. It's a crying shame that a man could be that selfish to force fadeaway 3's with a defender in his grill when he had aguy who they couldnt and wouldnt stop who was hot.

                    Remember game 5 especially. Remember after people started calling him Jordan after game two how he went like 7-21 or something to that effect. You should be ashamed to even say it was Shaq's fault.

                        You and a lot of people in this thread are either guilty of being a shaqHata or having a totally different idea about what happened in the finals then what acutally happened.

                        Finals Stats

                        Kobe = .381 FG% (4-23 from 3pt) 2.8Rebounds 4.4Assists 113 shotAttempts 22.6 pts

                        Ben Wallace = .478 FG% 13.6 Rebounds 1.4Assists 46shotAttempts 10.8 Pts

                        SHAQ = .631 FG% 10.8Rebounds 1.6Assists 84 shot attempts 26.6 pts

                        I don't care if shaq weighed 390, sweated corn oil, and ate chicken wings durring timeouts - his stats were so much better then anyone elses.

                        sometimes stats can be misleading but not when they favor someone in a landslide.

                        The hatashaq fat and inefective argument for this past playoffs isnt valid.

                        Looks like Kobe hogged the ball and took bad shots. Too many jumpers and he didn't rebound at all , and he could only get 4 assists with shaq shooting a monstrous .631 ? Thats stupid , if the big man is making such a high percentage the offense should go through the big man until that percentage drops off. Kobe played sorry.

                        Kobe was mentally unfit. His mind was not in shape for the playoffs. He was selfish and commited adultery , and his team payed the price for his distractions - yes this is as stupid as the fatashaq and i am not serious , but this is how some of you hack-a-facts sound with your baseless bashing. pick another year like some of the recent previous playoffs when shaq wasn't playing great and Kobe wasn't hogging the ball.

                                I wont blame Shaq for the finals demise, but his lack of conditioning and allowing his body to get fat hurt the Lakers several times. It's part of the reason that Payton got torched, and it had a big part in why Kobe and Shaq didn't like each other. In close games, Shaq had a few moments, but you had to worry about him not going hard to the boards (like Wallace), and getting up court after a missed shot. Stats dont win playoff games, its those key moments where momentum is shifted. Ben Wallace caused those moments late in games as Shaq watched rebounds or loose balls get snatched up by Detroit.

                                The bottom line is he got fat as a Laker, and got in shape as a Heat. How can anyone respect that? Again I ask, if the best player of your favorite team got fat, demanded all the money, then demanded a trade, got traded, then got into shape how would you feel towards him/her?
