Hornacek was the missing piece for the 90's jazz team to make a finals push. If that's average than I'd love to be average.

And Birdman was a missing piece for the Heat to have a shot at a repeat and spark a 27 game win streak.

He was a good role player man. He could do things well, he could shoot with anyone, but the fact that he makes a list of the top back courts ever just shows how rare it is that a team has both a great PG and great SG.

He would never be a good teams first or second option. Maybe "average" isn't the best word to describe it, but guys who can fill that 3rd-4th spot are in big abundance.

But then again Porter wasn't a stud either and somehow they are number 1.

No reason for IT and Dumars to not be first.

Number 1? Up there, but I'd still take Thomas and Dumars over these two. They were consistently the best PG and defensive guard in the NBA during their run.

Whoa. It's a good list, but a debatable one. I mean, where are

                  - Kevin Johnson & Dan Majerle
                  - Rajon Rondo & Ray Allen
                  - Tim Hardaway & Mitch Richmond

I would consider all of them better than Billups/Rip, for example.

Dan Majerle... That's why it's not up there.

I think the rules stated a certain number of years together along with some other criteria. I don't remember since I haven't looked since the thread was created.

Billups and Rip did win a title together, along with Billups winning finals MVP. And I would argue that while the Suns and Warriors duo's you posted are better offensively that the Pistons duo is better defensively.. Kinda washes out in that regard.
