Utah almost makes too much sense. Bring Dirk in as a sixth-man behind Favors and Gobert as the stretch 4.

Dallas needs a young point guard, they can take Trey Burke off our hands lol. Throw in a first or two.

Actually that doesnt make sense because Dirk would not accept a trade to that situation and the Mavs' FO would not send him there. Dirk has a no trade clause. If there is any chance of Dirk being traded, it would be to a contender. The Jazz might be contenders a few years from now, but not next season.

I agree with that completely.

Which is why I believe that since now Cuban is on record of having said it, it's the exact reason that he won't go thru with it.

I thought they threw that money at Matthews because they were under the impression that they were getting DAJ as well.

Yea this...and Cuban is being a man of his word when Wes agreed to the contract. So he is going to honor the contract.

Im usually strongly against tanking, but considering the Mavs have a top 7 protected pick this year, and Matthews + Parsons are both coming off of injuries, it might make sense to tank this season. They might not have a choice but to tank with how tough the west is. It would suck though because Dirk only has two years left.

Well right now I see Dallas at about 11th or 12th in the conference. Younger, healthier, and deeper teams like Phoenix, Utah, New Orleans, and even Sacramento should be more suited for a playoff run than Dallas will be next year.

If I was Dallas, I'd sit this season out to try and land a Top 5 pick. Just way too much competition in the West and nothing good I going to come out of trying to compete with 11 other teams for the playoffs.

It was made the same day. I didn't look at times though. So I would assume that they already had both saying that they were coming to Dallas.
