        Dirk will retire a Mav then take some bull**** job in one of Cuban's companies, with a ridiculous salary to cover backpay for all these discounts.

            Ya maybe, but there was a chance that Dirk would have wanted to move on if Dallas would have gone full tank mode. I'm very glad that they arent going that route.

                I thought it would be interesting if he went to Detroit.

                Pistons need "the guy/closer/whatever" and also shooting, especially from a big man.

                Seems like a logical fit (too late now, I understand, but still)

                Easier path in the east, Dallas sends him to a "non threatening" location.

                    He only has 1 year left in his contract right?

                        I might be misremembering, but Dirk said that if the Mavs intended to trade him he would retire.

                                Yea he probably did. I doubt he would ever want a trade, but im sure he doesnt want to spend his final two seasons tanking either. A Dirk trade was unlikely, just as Dallas trying to tank was unlikely, but stranger things have happened...

                                Thankfully, we get to watch him finish his career out in Dallas. Maybe he can get to #6 on the NBA all time scoring list this next season?

                                        I actually cant picture Dirk on any other team, but if he does end up somewhere else I believe my clippers are out that option.
