Any word on David West? I'm guessing he ends up in GS since he wanted to go there or to SA the last time he was a Free Agent. Although, maybe with all of the money floating around he will choose to get paid this time since he took a 10M/yr loss to go to the Spurs.

        He wants Milwaukee

No, but really, I still expect him to take the 1+1 deal with Miami by the time it's all said and done. Even Milwaukee won't offer much more than that; maybe an extra year if he wants it.

If Wade declines the 1+1 from Miami, maybe he's just felt disrespected by the way Riley's treated him these last few negotiations. I don't know why he wouldn't take that deal honestly.

Looks like the issue between Wade and the Heat is the 3rd year, he either wants more than 20 per over 2 or 3/60. It's an interesting situation. From what I have read, they'll have to renounce his bird rights to sign Hassan on the 7 if they don't have a deal done by then. Not sure how true that is, but it makes this whole Cleveland play interesting. I think he's just playing Pat for an extra few mil, but I'd love to have a livestream of Pat's face when the news of D Wade's deal in Cleveland breaks.

          Question for Boston fans:

Would you guys feel comfortable trading Smart, Jaylen Brown, and 2 picks for Russ with no indication whether or not he's going to re-sign? I've been thinking about it and while it would suck to give up the picks, the best case scenario for one is that 3 years after you use it, you've got a guy as good as Russ is right now.

I can't imagine Boston doing that for a one-year roll of the dice, especially with Thomas still on the roster.

Any commitment that you'll stay when your deals up can only be said verbally right? Nothing in writing?

Yeah I think the agreement would be verbal anyway so he could renege in theory. I just wonder at what point you put the assets on the table and go for it. They just signed Horford, he's not the piece you need to push you over the top, but he's a big one and the timeline is set, they've got 4 years. I just wonder if it makes any sense to just go for it, hope it goes well, and that at the end of it you can sell Russ on the city and organization.

Can we agree that everytime we hear a FA was blown away by a meeting with a team that means he's never going there ?

If I understand the CBA correctly, this is true.

I'm not doing that if I'm Boston.

I look at it like this; if it's a move thats not putting me on equal level or above Cleveland, I'm not making a move for the sake of making one.

Call me crazy, but nope. I feel Boston's best bet is keeping their picks, rolling the dice in free agency over the next season or two, and by then hoping the LBJ breaking down process is in motion.

I'm not giving up all of that for 1 year of Westbrook. I'd rather roll with what we have and keep our future assets. It's not like any team besides Golden State has a chance to win the championship anyway. Might as well look towards the 2019-2020 season.

Exactly. Why give up anything if we can possibly just straight up sign Westbrook next offseason?

Yeah it's sounding like playing with Russell Westbrook was a big factor in Durant's decision here too. Maybe Russ didn't tell even him whether he was staying or leaving and instead of rolling the dice and getting stuck with Russ for another 5 years he just bolted. Sounds like the Warriors were going at Russ without ever saying his name with some of this stuff.

Kevin Durant didn’t say a lot during his meeting with the Golden State Warriors last Friday. The NBA’s most coveted free agent, however, did have one particular question that he posed to the Warriors’ core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala while at a mansion in The Hamptons: Could he mess […]
