The biggest difference between Lebron and Durant is that even though Durant got super close and was a huge rival between OKC and GSW, he sold out, left OKC and joined the bandwagon to get a ring.

I understand Durant wants a ring...of course he does, but to get so close in the playoffs and then just join the team that came back and beat you? Really?

He could have went to the Spurs. Just my opinion.

Not this really matters much as everyone has their opinions and reasoning behind things, but have you listened to what Stephen A Smith has been saying? Felger and Mazz? Colin Cowherd? Mike and Mike?

They all think Durant is a turd for the way he went about this.
Wait, I didn't even think about this (Wade already had a ring, ringless Lebron decides to jump on board to grab a ring with a past champion in Wade). If you put it this way, isn't that sort of like what Durant is doing though?

Warriors were recent champions, and ringless Durant jumps on board looking for a ring with a championship team. Isn't that sort of like what the ringless Lebron did? Wasn't Lebron always close but never able to win the big game without jumping on Miami's wagon? Plus, Lebron had to go recruit another superstar from Toronto (Bosh).

I'll probably be able to listen to Stephen A Smith on youtube, but unless someone uploads the other persona's take on youtube, I'm not going to be able to catch their take.

If OKC lost to the Spurs, and decided to join the Warriors would you still have the same impressions?

It's not even close. Lebron never needed "Wade" to win a championship. He brings his talent and A game to ANY team and makes them better, 100x better in fact.

Durant just went 3-1 over GSW and then got stomped on in a comeback win for the ages. Why wouldn't you want to beat them???? Why join them?!

        It's a wuss move.

The San Antonio Spurs would have been the best spot for him, that team, that organization, that leadership. It's all about basketball in that town. They're not a 73 win team, they're one notch down from that.

And..you have a great chance to come back and whoop up on GSW this coming year.

I still believe that Durant took the bandwagony, easy way out. Wuss move.

        My opinion.

What is funny is I don't think most in here people are telling him where to work. But we can all have an opinion on his choice of where to work turned out.

It's called sports talk and entertainment.

Some of us are of the opinion that is was weak in the context of what just took place. You disagree. No biggie.

In the end, if this is where KD is going to be the happiest for himself and his family...all the power to him. I think the story line for the sake of sports drama and entertainment is freaking weak.

Just like everyone thought Lebron's "Decision" was weak and everyone was a massive ***** of my team, and then he flips the script (and boy it was a brilliant PR move and don't think for a second that was a not major part of the reason he went back) this is the case your getting here with this "decision" by KD.

In the end....who gives a ****. No asterisks by titles....that's stupid talk. If he wins a ring with GS good for him.

But man what a far better narrative for his long term story in the league if he had either stuck with his team or moved to a new team and exacted revenge on that 3-1 meltdown.

Instead what we will get as "sports/NBA fans" is potentially this narrative:

Kevin Durant wins the NBA title after joining the team that came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat him just one year earlier.

          Weak Sauce.

That is the heart of where I am coming from. It's all about the narrative for entertainment. Professional sports is mostly about entertainment to the masses at the core.

His life, his decision. We get that. It just makes for extremely bad drama if they just roll and win titles.

GS just went from a beloved team to the new "Miami Heat". They will be hated and under the biggest microscope ever. More than the "Big 3 Heat".

Agreed AS. I disliked GSW before but it was mostly because of Green and Curry. I like Iggy and Klay. But now? Nah I hate the team.

It's like how everyone hates on the Patriots (even before Deflategate).

What's worse is some folks think that this Durant GSW signing is good for the NBA? LOL. Seriously? The conference was already lopsided with the best record in history on NBA. Now? It's a flat out joke.

Lebron may have had potential to win without Wade, but the fact is prior to his merger with the Heats, Lebron had never ever won a ring (despite his shoddy roster). The chicken or the egg. But that tells me having Wade in the lineup was part of the key, and possibly the key to understanding "how" to win a championship. One could also say, it was Lebron's experience with the Heat and knowing the "how" is how Lebron finally got a ring in Cleveland.

Kyrie and Wade were established on their respective teams, Cleveland and Miami. Lebron had to bring in another "superstar" to round out the team: Love from Wovles; Bosh from Toronto.

San Antonio is still a dominant team. Are you telling me that Durant going to San Antonio is not a wuss move either? Why is going to the Spurs a "better" move for Durant? "Better" in terms of legacy or "better" in terms of grabbing a ring? Warriors were closer to getting a championship than the Spurs last season.

As a 49ers fan, for some reason, I don't hate the Patriots. I was rooting for the Patriots and Carolina to go undefeated last season and meet up in the Superbowl for the big one. I was pissed when the Patriots and Carolina both lost one game during the regular season.

Maybe now I should hate the Patriots, but I still can't.

                    Because of a few reasons:

                    1. Spurs aren't the top team in the West.

                    2. GSW is a finals team every year.

                    3. GSW just got done getting 73 wins breaking the record.

                    4. GSW just came back and showed you up on the court after being down 3-1

                    5. Spurs are a better fit for him. He's not on the best team so he elevates their team play with his talent and brings them a ring.

                    6. Winning a ring with the Spurs this coming year is MILES ahead of winning a ring with GSW in terms of legacy, ESPECIALLY if you beat the crap out of GSW in the process. ITS HUGE!

                    I'm all about legacy.

Nah man. I'm game to talk about all things NBA. Just been having good civil debates on the Durant subject. Also, I'm kinda hoping Wade goes to Cleveland and plays with Lebron. It would make it more interesting.

The Spurs is one of the top teams in the West, let alone the NBA. The Golden State Warriors has only been to the finals twice recently (not including past past past Warriors team).

The legacy will be that Durant won a ring regardless of which team he plays on. The legacy is that a superstar won a ring regardless of which team he plays for.
