    re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread

The Bulls say a lot of things they don't actually mean or care about.

    "It's everybody's team"

"We see him (Pau) as part of our core"

"Want to get younger and more athletic"

"Fred is a very good basketball coach"

"Want to keep Jimmy Butler long term"

Entire organization is a side show act. Surprised Wade even wanted to come here.

I wonder what happens to Aron Baynes? That is a steep price to pay for a third string center and a bit of a novelty act in Marjanovic.

Wow, a center with athleticism and a little muscle to his game. I would have taken Miles Plumlee to fill that need, but Dedmon is good enough.

I was actually hoping for Miles too, but I think Dedmon will be a good fit.

I doubt we match Boban at this point...I'd like to see what he can do with some real minutes though, the dude can play some ball outside of garbage time

          I think his payouts are 5.6, then 5.9 then 9.5 million.Looks backloaded

Weren't Zo and Tim Hardaway both traded for? Im trying to see the biggest free agent the Heat signed that D Wade wasn't involved with and im coming up with Eddie Jones, who's from Florida lol.

Btw, seething hate is right but it's not the franchise, it's just the Rat. If he had gone to the Bucks, I'd hate him there too lol. His association leads to a bleeding effect of hate that contaminates my feelings toward them lol. And we will have fun with D Rose lol, nothing can be less fun than Jose Calderon. More fun than D Rose will be Whiteside checking out 3 weeks into the season like Eddy Curry and the Rat having to explain how D Wade wasn't worth the money to honor him but this guy is LOL. In a players league, dude pushes out his star and wants people to sign up after that? I can't wait to see it.

Mavs GM handcuffed himself to Harrison Bricks at the signing. He must not rmemener the specifics of the DeAndre Jordan situation. For that to be a concern for him, the Warriors would have to actually want Bricks back.

Spurs will actually have a bit of athleticism coming off the bench for once....

                  Simmons
                  Dedmon
                  Bertans

I know most fans loved him last season, some people even thought he'd make a difference against OKC ([emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]), but he was far too lumbering, a poor rim protector (despite huge size) and seemed a bit clumsy. He was always being ragdolled by Steven Adams, although truthfully he did to all the team's bigs.

Dedmon is very limited too but he brings more athleticism to the table and supposedly better rim protection (only 0.8 BPG last season).

I've never heard of this a-t-h-l-e-t-i-c-i-s-m that you speak of. Is that a new thing in basketball?

All jokes aside, if they can snag someone like Terrence Jones, Jarnell Stokes or Thomas Robinson then I'll be pretty content with this offseason.

That will mean Kyle playing more SF (again) than I would like but not a lot of quality depth at that position available at the Spurs' price range.

Slomo is killing it in the Summer League again, slow as ever, lol..... Pop needs to cut him loose next year and let him cook...

I was thinking we might pick up a PG for when Tony gets his annual ankle injury...Patty is slowing down

Really? You're comparing a situation where a guy chose to go elsewhere when the team he was leaving would've maxed him out (OKC) versus a situation where the team low-balled a franchise superstar of 13 years and he left over money? Apple, meet orange.

Notice how the letters N-B-A didn't appear in that quote....Tim Floyd v2.0 for all I'm concerned. It's eerie how we keep getting suckered in by Iowa State college coaches who have no business in the pros.

I just hope Reinsdorf has the guts to purge the front office at some point soon. He's a reasonable guy, but so reactionary and into crony-ism.

Barnes inked his deal with Dallas. Y'all gonna look really stupid next year when he's averaging 18 PPG.

I think it's a good signing. It keeps Mark Cuban happy and keeps Dallas comfortably in the Dirk Nowitzki low playoff seed/early exit purgatory for another year.
