I think Dirk is just the last remnants of the era that required loyalty from star players.

NBA is just looking more and more like soccer from a FA perspective.

Well like I said, the NBA is changing again. Some people can't deal with it either, but it's changing again. An old era is leaving us and the rule changes have made the game different.

Free Agency is no longer what it was, and some have an issue with that, but we're going to have to get used to it.

Once the NBA decided to go down the "its a business road" this was probably inevitable. Everyone looking out for themselves.

Kevin Garnett is now the only active player drafted before 1998.

Whatever Dirk is called he earned those criticisms.
Oh I'm not saying he wasn't doing it.

Just funny how he wasn't the only one(especially big)but he caught most of the flak from us, compared to everyone else.

That was a pretty tough era of PFs in the west, If im not mistaken

I know you weren't specifically addressing me, but personally I welcome the change. I think in the end it makes for a more interesting product and seems like better opportunities for the players across the board.

If the popularity of the game continues to grow, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see the NBA organize a tiered promotional system using the DL and "Champions League" to further saturate the world market.

Nah not at all. Some of the comments I've seen around the NBA, about Durant, the money, free agents not being loyal, half of the first round of the draft being international players... its all coming full circle.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about whether he'll play next season or not. I would love to see Duncan, Garnett, Bryant, Pierce and Allen (if he hasn't officially retired already) go out at the same time. Probably the great HOF class ever if that happens.

Jared Sullinger on his way to Toronto?

Yep. Changed his avi to a Raptors logo.

Individually, possibly, but I think 2010 class wins by default cause it has The Dream Team, lol.

The radio station here in Charlotte was talking to Cornbread Maxwell about the growing popularity of the NBA again. I can't remember the last time they were even talking about the NBA in July around these parts...

Whatever they are doing is working....I would agree the game is changing in a lot of ways, and some things still take some getting used to....hell, some still complain about 3 point shooting though it's been trending that way for a while....but I think it's a good thing overall..

They need to think long and hard about if they want to halt all this momentum they have with a lockout..
