I hope Riley calls Wade on his bluff.

Dude currently has a job where he is paid handsomely, can show up when he wants, play hard when he feels like it, and no matter what he does the fans LOVE him.

He is the biggest star in the history of S.Florida sports ( sorry Marino). If it's really about business, then he stays with the Heat and can make millions putting his name on whatever he wants in a town where he has a 100% approval rating.

If he wants to tarnish that brand and play for a mediocre team that is going to expect to get their money's worth out of him, then good luck D.

Guarantee you guys that Hood will start with JJ coming off the bench with Exum, Burks, Boris, and Lyles.

We finally have depth though! Feels good man. Top to bottom this could be our deepest team ever.

Shelvin Mack's contract was made guaranteed, too. He was huge for us last year when we brought him in and now he's our third stringer, same with Neto.

If he goes to Chicago there'll be no brand tarnishing there. Team is mediocre for sure, but whatever money he can make in Miami putting his name on anything he can make just as much in his hometown as Derrick Rose can tell him, which happens to be one of the top 3 markets in sports.

Deepest =/= most talented. Obviously this team doesn't have a Stockton, Malone, or even a D-Will. But there are realistically 10 guys that I'd be comfortable putting in the starting lineup based on matchups, injuries, etc...

I can't wait til next season already.

You would know better than me King, but if he plays half *** and misses 20 games a year @ 26 mil per will they still love him?

It seemed like a good % turned on Rose by the time his run ended.

Just a heads up. It is well known down here that even though Chicago is "Home" that Wade has never had a real desire to ever play in Chicago. A ton of personal laundry that he does not want to deal with.

It's clear he is using other teams as leverage against The Heat and hopefully Wade resigns with our team down here. If he leaves then the rebuilding process will be that much faster. If he re-ups we have a playoff contender for another 2 seasons (hopefully) and of course a healthy Chris Bosh is vital to that as well.

I do think his brand will be greatly damaged down here. If he bails for a Denver or The Bucks....wow. That would be shocking. Going to the Bulls not as much but like I said....he really has no desire to be there.

We will know by tomorrow. I don't think most think he is going anywhere and The Heat are going to have to pony up and pay the man. It's just one of those things where your going to overpay for a 34 year old SG whose game is highly dependent on getting to the rack, on the back side of his career. He had a really good season last year. But the previous 2 seasons were marred with numerous health issues and a lot of missed games. Wade did a tremendous job of losing some much needed weight and also re-shaping his game to be more finesse and euro step, up and under's, floaters, tear drops etc. We love him down here. We hope he retires down here as a life long Heat player. I think he wants too as well.

There wasn't really a good % that turned on him. There was certainly a very vocal minority that was done with Rose, but I think the whole thing with Rose started because the Bulls wanted him to play in the playoffs back in 2013 but he was adamant that he wasn't going to play until he felt comfortable with his body, so they leaked that he was cleared to play and **** went down hill from there. If Rose was sitting out games in the regular season this whole time, but never missed a single postseason game, things probably would have been different. He didn't help himself either pining for next year's payday earlier this season before he'd even strung together a 40 game season again.

You talking about the Dennis Rodman who spent the first 5 years of his career beating up those Bulls? The same Dennis Rodman who spent 2 years in San Antonio after his Detroit stint? The same Dennis Rodman who was never a top 3 player ever. The same Dennis Rodman who was 34 years old before he ever put on a Chicago jersey. The same Dennis Rodman who had fallen out of favor with just about everyone in the leauge who the Bulls traded for?

The same Clyde Drexler who only faced the Rockets in the playoffs twice in his entire career? The same Clyde who the Rockets traded for? The same Clyde who was well past his prime?

You want to talk about logic but also want to draft up some revisionist history for the sake of convenience. No one mentioned Magic or Bird. You did.

These situations are not the same. Carry on.
So then who are the guys in the good old days that didn't team up?

This answer will nullify my entire post if you don't name Hall of Fame greats.

You're right Drexler was traded to Houston and Rodman the same to Chicago. Bad examples and I was wrong there.

That being said, I mentioned Bird and Magic because the fact remains they didn't have to team up with anyone; their situations were great.

Meanwhile some other greats stuck it out with one team and got nothing out of it. You want to mention the good old days without taking into consideration those days were different: players had less financial freedom and the league was smaller, allowing more access to stars on your roster.

It's a different league. Gotta get used to it.

Clyde was past his prime and heading into the twilight of his career when he was traded to Houston. It isn't really the same situation at all and it definitely didn't aid (nor taint) his legacy.

Actually, if Durant wins a title in Oakland/San Francisco that is the exact tier of player he belongs with: Clyde Drexler, Moses Malone and Elvin Hayes.

You do realize that the Lakers were a mediocre team the year prior to drafting Magic? He was there Tim Duncan in a sense, like Bird in Boston, and led that team back into prominence.

The last Laker championship before Magic: 1972 (8 years)
The last Boston championship before Bird: 1976 (5 years)

Off-Topic: And that "Holy Trinity" stuff is bull****. Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were as good if not better than at least Magic and Bird. As I've said in the past, those two are extremely overrated by NBA fans.
