re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Yeah, I don't know why I said off the bench. I would assume Joe Jesus gets that role. They've got a pretty legit rotation. It's fun to see teams that didn't win 73 games last year improveOriginally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Based on what Ryen Russillo and one of his guests were saying (name is slipping my mind right now), it sounds like Riley convinced Wade to opt out of his contract before and take a lot less money so that they could make some moves with the promise that the Heat would basically overpay him later on. And now they're currently offering less than probably at least 2 other teams are willing to offer. I'm not sure his value is really only $20 mil per year in this cap climate, and it sounds like Wade is just angry with Riley at this point.
I'd still bet almost anything that he ends up re-signing with Miami, but I completely understand him trying to force Miami to up their offer.
I don't blame Wade here. I will hardly ever blame the players for wanting more money."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
As much as I'd like to see Wade in Cleveland, just because of the Durant cheese move. I think Wade should take the 2 yr 50 mill deal unless a better offer (3yrs) is given.
I do think it's time he move away from the Heat. I love a player who stays with one team, but it's clear Wade has given way to much in his career financially to the Heat the past years. I know he has had knee issues, but he can make the money elsewhere, as Nuggets have shown.Comment

His value is 50 million for 2 years by the Nuggets, a team he didn't win 3 Championships with. I think it's clear what his "value" is. Wade might not be what he was, but he still is better then Harrison Barnes. Lots of teams would love to have this guy just to be relevant in any way.Comment

For the people who think the Durant to GSW move wasn't pure cheese. How would you feel if LBJ signed with the Warriors today.
If it's going to be like this more and more in the future I think it's safe to say the value of getting ring doesn't mean much anymore. I know players have teamed up before, even in the 80s and 90s,etc, but when a top player like Durant jumps on a 73 win team who was considered possibly the greatest of all time last year by many, it's beyond ridiculous.
Just sign all the top players to GSW this season and call it the dream team. Watch all the other teams play a season of useless basketball. That sure would be fun to watch.......for one city.Comment

Add the Bulls to the list of compelling teams worth watching next season if Wade actually jets for Chicago.
Say what you want about GSW running the NBA, but there's plenty of other stuff worth keeping an eye one outside the Bay Area.Comment

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Wade, Butler & Rondo would make Chicago a fun 2K17 team to use. They'd have a short window to compete before you would have to completely rebuild. It will be interesting to see how the dev's treat contracts too. I'm sure it's going to be hard to replicate because the craziness that we've seen this offseason is going to be turned up a notch next offseason.
Anyway, back on topic... with the Moratorium ending tomorrow hopefully we'll start seeing some more moves in the next few days.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
