So Denver have offered D-Wade a 2yr, $50 million deal.

Hope he doesn't take that. It'll be such a 2K move lol

Seeing D-Wade in a different jersey would be so weird...I just can't imagine him leaving Miami. Especially not for a smaller market.

being a cavs fan but wade is my favorite player in the NBA I want him to have his entire career in Miami. Just won't be right seeing him anywhere else even if I do want a wade cavs jersey it still wouldn't look right

You either gotta be loyal or a damn fool to stick around after that.

How many pay cuts did Brook take for that **** though? Getting paid handsomely to suck ain't loyalty. Getting convinced to take less to suck repeatedly and still sticking with the mfer doing it to you? Now that's loyalty.

That would be such a dumb, short-sighted decision if he took that deal over 2 for 40 in Miami, but it's his life.

                  re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread

Speaking of loyalty, only a handful of players have been with the same team since 2010.

                  B. Lopez
                  A. Bradley
                  T. Gibson
                  D. Nowitzki
                  S. Curry
                  P. George
                  B. Griffin
                  D. Jordan
                  M. Conley
                  T. Allen
                  Z. Randolph
                  M. Gasol
                  D. Wade
                  C. Bosh
                  U. Haslem
                  N. Pekovic
                  R. Westbrook
                  N. Collison
                  T. Parker
                  M. Ginobili
                  T. Duncan
                  M. Bonner
                  D. Cousins
                  D. DeRozan
                  G. Hayward
                  J. Wall

Of that list, only 22 have played for the one team since entering the NBA.

DA's a cool guy but he just earned himself an unfollow for this nonsense.

                    David Aldridge:

What I’ve been told: LeBron James will not take the vet minimum in order to facilitate a DWade signing with Cavs. Under any circumstances.

So come next year, he could bolt for Charlotte, since the Currys love NC so much.

I don't believe this is true since KD himself basically said Curry was texting him right?

But I would love to see Chef cooking it up in Charlotte in his fathers old jersey.

No pay cuts at all, sir.

From having cheap Bruce Ratner to The Russian, he hasn't taken a single one.

It is my dream to see Curry come home and rock the teal and purple... but it's not gonna happen anytime soon. He wouldn't have left GS next year without Durant, he definitely won't leave it with him.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Curry come home and play in the Queen City in his twilight years though

Late to the party but this Durant talk makes me laugh.

You really think in 2016 that any of these Generation Y basketball players care about loyalty and pride? Comical.

The league has been ruined by TV contracts, shoe deals and guys caring about their 'legacy'. Winning rings is good for business. You don't get some sort of consolation prize because you 'stuck it out' with a team that could never get over the hump. Take it or leave it at this point.

Not a fan of the move because I grew up in an era where guys weren't buddies. Where guys didn't run with their tail between their legs to join your team because they couldn't beat you. Can you actually imagine Clyde on the Bulls, or MJ heading to Detroit? Just wouldn't have been right. But these aren't those days anymore and can understand why he did it from both a financial and a basketball perspective. Just disappointing to see a Top 3 player in the league concede inferiority but it is what it is. They still have to play the games.

There's a long ESPN article by Royce Young. Interesting details.

Young thinks his inner circle urged him towards the Warriors.

Presti tried to get him to sign last Thursday. First he met him outside the arena, in front of giant pictures of Westbrook, Durant and Adams. Presti went through the Durant door but Durant went through the Adams door.

Then he told Durant they would try to acquire Horford if Durant approved by signing a long term deal right then and there.

They didn't succeed in getting him to cancel his trip to the Hamptons.

On Sunday, they flew out a contingent of lower-level Thunder employees, like trainers, with whom KD interacted. They had a bad feeling but they stayed over night there and could only find 6 rooms for the 9 people who went there. So they shared some of the rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, including the owner Bennett.

Durant also apparently believed that free agents didn't come to OKC because of the city. For instance, GAsol chose Chicago over coming to OKC.

Then on his podcast, Jalen Rose said that the night Obama won the presidency, Thunder were playing a home game and they announced the election results and the crowd booed. Rose didn't say KD was an Obama supporter or anything, just that he might have been proud that a black man was elected president.

Hope he likes the Bay Area.
