    re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread

Without that commitment to another team, thats going to be a problem for okc.

Russ likely wont commit to anybody period since next years money is going up.

They definitely arent in a place of advantage. This is different than trading ibaka, whom they traded for a similar situation but Russ is the last man standing

For a Celts trade I would give up Rozier, our first in 2017 (which would most likely be a late first with the additions of Horford and RWB) and one of our 3 picks in 2019 (LAC, Mem, or BOS).
Boston has the right to swap picks with Brooklyn in 2017. They do not own both picks.

How much is it going to change though?

Not like you're going to be giving up end of the bench guys or marginal rotation guys(hyperbole obviously but my point remains). Either way, you'll be giving up at least 2 Draft picks(a 1st next year and in 2018, if we have a season then)and one of your best young players, who's going to have more value to me(the team giving up WB)than to you.

The Melo deal is one example of that.

Not to mention, if you're the team trading for him, you're more closer to being "in contention" going forward than OKC would be.

Lol you're going to need to do alot better than Terry freaking Rozier.

Smart, Crowder, and both 2017 and 2018 1st would be a starting point in a Westbrook trade. I think OKC would want even more.

Dwight Howard working on his mid range game this summer. It's never too late man. Well I think it is but can't blame him for trying.

              Depends on the team.

The offer wouldn't change much for the Lakers but If I'm a team like Boston and I'm cruising to 50+ wins and a 2 seed, am I really going to blow that up for 30 games of a Russ rental? Probably not. Especially when I can wait 3 months and try to get him for nothing.

But if I can get him on the team now, make him the face of the franchise, have him be a part of those 50+ wins and get him with Stevens for 82 games... I'd take my chances with that.

The value of my assets wouldn't really change but my desire to do the trade would and that would make me lower my offer.

As much as IT4 has done as an ambassador for the C's, I think would trade him for Westbrook before Crowder or Bradley...... However, OKC is going to have to throw in Adams too.

                        Westbrook, Adams and Morrow
                        for
IT4, Smart, Young, Zizic, 17 1st (BRK), 18 1st (BRK) and one of the three 19 1st we have.

                        Westbrook, Rozier, Jackson
                        Bradley, Morrow, Hunter
                        Crowder, Brown, Yabu
                        Horford, Olynyk, Jerebko
                        Adams, Johnson

I could roll with that in NBA 2K.

No way you have enough left to trade for Cousins after trading for Westbrook.

Westbrook would take a minimum of two 1st and a combination of Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, Smart, Brown, or Olynyk.

Anyways, pointless to talk about because OKC are closed to trading him now and it's not like Westbrook would stick around in Boston anyway.
