      Re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread

If LBJ plays all 3 seasons on that contract, he'll be 34 going on 35 at the end of that third season.

Does he command another max contract at that point?

Or maybe he will opt out after 2 years and try to get another 3 or 4 year deal?

If he'd done a 1+1, he could have signed a 4 or 5 year deal at a higher per year average and he'd be about 32 and a half so Cavs might still give him a 4 or 5 year deal.

He's probably already got more money than his kids and grandkids will outlive. But what was the deal, Wade was mocking him for unwilling to roam on his phone while in Europe to avoid costly roaming charges?

If a Billion dollar Nike Contract aint enough for dude then I dont know what is.

They should just sell him some shares in the company or give him some free when he retires or something.

Underpaid maybe, but this is the dude who benefitted by getting a billion dollar deal because of basketball.

Well MJ set a very high bar for accumulated wealth.

The endorsement deals he has are no doubt lucrative but with the Nike and NBA money alone, he doesn't have to drive a Kia regularly or use Samsung phones if he doesn't want to. Or maybe the people advising him on these deals wanted their cuts.

I can kind of get the thing with not roaming. He probably grew up watching his money so he's conscious of wasteful things like roaming costs. I still look at some things which I can easily afford now the same way I looked at them when I was a kid and I couldn't afford them.

Please tell me you're not serious talking about that man's "roaming charges", lol

If you are, then I have heard it all when it comes to talking about a player's finances.

he doesn't have to drive a Kia regularly
            Ya'll still believe this?

Hes earned all that because of the resume he built though..he doesnt necessarily have to be satisfied because of it...

Two articles that explain why LeBron took the 2+1 and not a 5 year max or another 1+1:

It was always going to make more sense for player of his caliber to do these 1+1/2+1 deals. He's one of the very few players in the league that can/will get a max regardless of length(pause).

The man isn't a dummy when it comes to this.

He shouldn't but the notion that he's underpaid isn't true.

I'm a technical sense the game has netted him wealthy for generations

I don't understand what the Nike money has to do with the Cavs money. Nike can pay him whatever they want and he can still be underpaid by the Cavs. The Cavs labor costs shouldn't be subsidized by Nike.

He can play. Definately in for two years with a team option.

I read it'd be for the vet min. Seems like a done deal.

Chinese paper say 1 year 1.14M. Low risk move.

That and it looks like he's bulked up over the years to be able to play a stretch 5.

They'd need it with Lance and Randle clogging up the paint.

From what I seen in summer league Lance has put some work into his shot and looks much improved.

Either way I don't see Lance & Randle spending much time on the court together.

As for Yin if it works it works if it doesn't when he can just get rid of him.
