I think you have to give the award to the guy who finished the greatest regular season of all-time. Sucks for Luke Walton.

So many choices this year and they give it to a guy that wasn't there for half the season.

IMO it should have been either Popovich or Stevens. With Stotts and Clifford rounding it out along with Kerr.

Saw the Steve, was hoping the last name would be Clifford.

I think it's more of a shame that Stevens finished 6th in voting.

Each coach to receive a first place vote is deserving in their own right. I don't view Stevens finishing 6th as a slight.

Stotts finished pretty closely, those were my top two choices.

I'm ok with Kerr winning despite missing nearly half the season. He kept his team composed and ended up breaking the all time win record with him at the helm. And Walton was under his wing in the games he missed anyways.. Also, his win percentage for the games he did coach was still higher than any other coach in the league.

besides the obligatory stotts votes, yeah, everybody else is WAY behind.

Warriors won 73 regular season games. That alone trumps everything. Plus, one could argue Kerr had an impact even when he was removed from the sideline.

Yea I definitely remember hearing that during one of their games early in the season. That even though he wasn't on the court at home games he was still there talking with the players during halftime and helping at practices. And why I really don't have a problem with him winning the award.

Not sure why there's any controversy on this one. Whether he was there in the beginning or not, the team set the record for the most wins ever in the regular season. Let's not act like just because he wasn't on the sidelines that he wasn't still involved.
