most consecutive appearances in franchise history very capable of being a double double average guy too, I said it a lot during the Finals how much I appreciate the guy, it was just a shame he was there to replace love and not mozgov

He's a good rebounder against many teams. He averaged 5.3 ORPG in the Finals last year. He's very valuable, especially if it's a rematch and Love/Irving make it thereComment

Does coach Budenholzer know that a 3 point shot is more than a 2 point shot on defense? Look at all the Hawks collapse the paint and allow wide open three point shooters. Cavs are murdering the 3 and the hawks are still so heavily focused on guarding the paint.Comment

That's not what I meant though. I'm saying that any team in the league could get similar production for about an 8th of the cost. Cleveland likely couldn't afford anyone else, which makes their overpayment justified. It doesn't mean he isn't ridiculously over paid for his output though.
Ideally a sign and trade could have set them up nicely IMO, but he's really a perfect fit for them. For comparisons sake, Thomas Robinson reminds me a lot of Thompson. Hell they are even virtually the same size and have nearly the same per minute production too.. One player makes the minimum, one player makes about 90mil..Comment

But I didn't say they didn't need him, and I didn't say it wasn't money well spend FOR THEM.
He's still insanely overpaid. He's a top 30 paid player in the league.Comment

He kills everyone on the boards, I was just pointing out that his value in this series is substantially larger than it would be against any other team. He is a very important player and I think the Cavs had to do whatever they could to resign him but that contract along with his limited skill set is still too big imo.
But like you said, if they end up winning a ring, it'll all be worth it. And with the contracts that are coming out this summer, it won't look so bloated to me anyways.Comment
