You can find YouTube videos of every team getting the shaft from officials. Yes, that includes the bad teams.

The officiating has always been inconsistent even before y'all got good so stop making it seem like y'all are the only team getting screwed every time they lose. Starting to sound like Seahawk Fans.

Notice this as well. Twice I've seen a Celtics game stopped immediately following the opening tip because the clock never started. At least half their games have had a clock issue at some point.

Yeah the clocks have been bad at the begining of games but I doubt this is a clock issue this time. More like the guy responsible for it just didn't start the clock when Cousins deflected the ball.

I really want to hear what the NBA has to say about that play. Surely the Raptors aren't gonna let this go.

The clock didn't actually malfunction. The refs started taking back seconds from the clock based off (completely natural) human delayed reaction. Both the ref at the sideline and the actual game clock started count before Ross touched the ball, indicating that they acknowledged the fact that Cousins tipped the pass. Apparently that wasn't good enough.

Sometimes the NBA will announce that the officiating was wrong on a key call and apologize to the team.

That's it, they get a memo of apology, but no do-overs.

That's why that WNBA coach was sarcastic about memos from the league admitting a mistake.

NBA is very sensitive about the officiating. Kerr just got a fine the other day for saying they're not calling traveling, including on Warriors players.

Yeah an appology is the best thing Raptors can hope for but I just wanna know if the NBA think they made a mistake or nah.

If the lead ref says there was a clock malfunction, then I have to believe it given the amount of times I've seen them not start properly this year. All of the refs have a device on their hip to start the clock as well as the official scorer. I still believe they should have replayed it if it was an equipment failure, but the precedence has been set from here on out.

                    Crew Chief Mike Callahan
                    Postgame – Toronto at Sacramento
NBA Crew Chief Mike Callahan met with pool reporter Tim Bontemps (Washington Post) after the game between the Raptors and Kings in Sacramento tonight. Here is the transcript of that interview:
Question 1: How did you guys determine the ruling?
Callahan: “First of all, the trigger was a clock malfunction. We had the ball deflected, and the clock didn’t start.”
Question 2: “So the replay trigger was the clock didn’t start when the ball was tipped by DeMarcus Cousins?”
                    Callahan: “That’s correct.”
Question 3: How much time elapsed between when DeMarcus touched and when the clock started?
                    Callahan: “More than 2.4 seconds.”
Question 4: How was it determined that it was more than 2.4 seconds?
                    Callahan: “It was 2.5 seconds.”
Question 5: “So from when DeMarcus touched the ball until it was let go was 2.5 seconds?”
                    Callahan: “Yes.”
Question 6: And there was 2.4 on the clock?
                    Callahan: “That’s right.”
Question 7: How was the 2.5 seconds determined?
Callahan: “A digital timer on the screen in the replay center, from different angles.”
It's over and done with now...the Raptors need to focus on their game tonight against the Clippers.

                      NBA to the Raptors:

Patterson surely is getting a fine for all his comments. One of his tweets:
Patrick Patterson @pdpatt Looking forward to the apology from the @NBA even though it won't do (!@#$) for the outcome. #haha #raptors
(I censored that tweet, but I'm sure you can figure out what that censored word is)

Last words from me. If you redo that play, you are being 100% unfair to the Kings. Cousins made the game-winning defensive play. The ball was tipped, the clock didn't start on time in the arena, it was reviewed officially in a place where they did start the clock on time and it was deemed that the shot was too late.

If you redo the play, it's unfair to the Kings. If you count the shot, it's unfair to the Kings. The correct call was made.

This is part of the pros and cons of the review system. Y'all want review in the game, this is the sort of thing that will happen. Dwayne Casey was just on Open Court coaches edition talking about how he wanted more review and a "challenge flag" for calls like the NFL has. You have to accept review both ways, whether it helps your team or loses you a game.

In the end the right call was made by the reviewers. Now, if you want to start talking about calls before that, etc., well, that's a situation that the NBA will have to decide about. In this case the last shot of a game is a reviewable play and they did it.

So basically, players and coaches and everyone else should ignore the game clock and only worry about the clock 2,000 miles away in Jersey.

                          Oh boy.

                            This is a tricky situation.

By league rules if you check to see if a shot got off in time tipped passes aren't part of the review-able material. So technically they shouldn't be able to make the call on a review of the shot.

However, in a review of clock malfunctions they can determine if a player did/didn't get a shot off in time by the real clock rather than the malfunctioned clock.

If they were reviewing the shot they shouldn't have been able to change the clock for the tipped pass. But if they were reviewing if the pass was tipped and if the clock was wrong they actually can take back the basket.

Such a weird set of contradicting rules. I can't understand them thinking that it's a good idea for players to be playing by a clock that doesn't exist though. That, in time, will get tons of backlash if we see more of it.

Not nba, but this happened last night. "Michigan St and FGCU". I don't know how you don't give FGCU a redo of that play. Some clown started the clock too early, but the refs just allow it.

Man, I know it's a difficult job, but I ****ing hate referees lol. You'd think they would be better.

Oh and as far as I'm concerned. That Terrence Ross buzzer beater should have counted, and the game should have been determined in OT.

Whoever was manning the clock messed up, or it was a malfunction, but thats on Sacramento's venue. Deal with it. Toronto was robbed, you can't guesstimate, Well... "He would have never gotten it off anyway" that's bull.
