How hard is it to say "no comment"?

Actually I think pro athletes have a clause in their contract that states they have to talk to the media. I`m not positive about this but I think i`ve read it somewhere.

But getting back to Kobe`s comments..

With a statement like this from Kobe ("I can go off solo and get 50 or 60 points on these guys,") just makes me think this guy cares about one thing... scoring points and thats it. I guess the Spurs didn`t really humble Kobe when they made him cry (yes... Kobe actually cried when he lost in the playoffs) two seasons ago.

But whatever.... I`m sure this is not the last ridiculous comment we`ll here from a pro athlete! In fact, I can`t wait to hear the next one!

okay... but Kobe has NEVER scored 60 points in a game and has only scored 50 like maybe one time in his entire career. How does he expect to drop in 60 if he`s chunking up air balls? He talks like he THINKS its routine for him to drop in 60. 5 years from now if you ask him how many points he scored in that game against the grizz back in 2004 he`ll say 50 or maybe 60. Kobe has issues...

Tonight he dropped in 41 against the Magic but the Lakers lost... hmmmmm... maybe this guy is shooting too much?

People are missing the entire point of his quote. The point is not that he can score 50 or 60 on the team, the point is numbers like those will only result in losses without the help of his teammates. I'd like to know what the damn question was. That game Caron and Chucky played horrible and couldn't knock down their shots. If the question was talking about how Kobe would react if his team was struggling during times like these, then it is obvious that the point of this quote is that he can only win with his teammates. People are making a big deal out of this number "50 or 60" for no reason. He just used the number to exagerate the point. If he said, "I can go solo and score 30 or 40 on these guys, . . .," then that wouldn't mean a damn thing because Kobe scoring 30+ points is a norm.

No its not... He`s only averaged 30 PPG in one season his ENTIRE career! Kobe`s lifetime average is a meager 21.9 PPG. However 21 is still damn good by anyone`s standards, but Kobe thinks he averages 50 ppg and should shoot the ball everytime down the court. He`s a good player but not THAT good.

See that's not even the point in his quote. Kobe is not saying that. He is saying that IF he goes out to score 50-60 points, it would still result in a loss. He is emphasizing that you win games by a team effort not an individual effort. This had nothing to do with him bragging about being unstoppable on offense.

And what I meant about the 30-40 point games is that when he does put up those numbers, they aren't considered "big-time" numbers by his standards. When Kobe, T-Mac, or AI put up 40 in a game, people won't be super impressed or excited. But when Caron Butler, Jim Jackson, or Kenny Thomas put up 40, then that is BIG.
