Re: 2017 Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
It's junk just because it's ESPN? It's a fact and not one of their typical made up stats. I think my post was pretty self explanatory. I've been on Russ' *** for his decision making for years, so I ain't going out of my way to defend him, he has work to do still to improve himself, but that team also has some work to do in improving around him, because what they got right now ain't good enough. They got less around Russ right now than the Bulls had around Derrick Rose when he was healthy and the way you droned on and on about that situation needing to be better, I'd expect you to understand the point here better than anybody.
Yeah, it pretty much is... It's a one-sided bias stat that they keep posting to make his team look bad to prop him up.
We've seen stars with a worse supporting cast in the past over and again and this dude is no different. If he was that worried about it himself he wouldn't have signed that extension.
I won't even get into teams like Kobe had with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown, or Tmac with Jeryl Sasser and Reece Gains and more. Talking about having nothing
That trash doesn't even tell the whole story, and frankly, all of these novice math nerds who all of a sudden coming out of the woodworks and are busting out advanced stats mainly trying to justify their MVP sympathy votes are pathetic.
OKC had so many chances to be and stay good and blew it, and I don't feel sorry for them. When players wanted a little more money or a bigger role they got traded every time. If Westbrook ever wants to win he'd leave with the quickness instead of hanging around a team that has management that chooses the cheap route every chance they get. I remember Phoenix used to do that and now that team is a memorial of what it once was.
Anyway, this all played out exactly like we knew it would so oh well. He'll get his MVP consolation and we can move on.Comment

"MVP consolation"
Can't say I've heard that one before.

What's biased about it though? It's a pretty cut and dry.
Nobody is out here saying he's got the worst support cast of all time lol.

Not like it matters... just wondering why King posted that junk out of the blue after the series ended a day ago.. its been plastered all over tv and other media for the entire 1st round
I won't even get into Reggie Miller. That guy needs to be canned.Comment

Lmao what? Out of the blue? A day after the series ended? So suddenly as soon as a series ends we can't talk about it? I posted that 12:18 pm, less than 24 hours after the game was over. That doesn't even touch on the fact that the info posted in the post was from THAT game last night so how was it plastered all over tv the entire first round. Come on now man.

Re: 2017 Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
Following his performance in Game 3 of the playoff series between the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers, it didn’t seem like anything could stop Utah small forward Gordon Hayward. His career-high 40 point-performance wasn’t enough to get the win but it sent a message that the former Butler Bulldog was for real and wasn’t going Read more...
Thought this was amusing.

People have used stats arbitrarily for so long that people now reject stats arbitrarily. Should be fun to see where this takes us.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

I feel like somebody will put up a 40/20/20 line with 5 blocks, 10 steals and no turnovers on perfect shooting from the field and the line. So ESPN will make a graphic saying "first person in NBA history to do this" and it'll be rejected as an ESPN stat.

Re: 2017 Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
Believe me i dont care to go into great detail about espn but they definitely aren't objective and they have done this first player storyline profusely, some of it even worthless.
Don't get mad at me because their reputation is in the toilet.
I don't need an advanced stat to know
#1 the Rockets were always a better team
#2 Okc was going to have a 1st round exit
Some things are just common sense, especially for many of you guys who have actually picked up a basketball and played yourself.
I never heard a dude in the gym or the park yelling out how his teammates were -15 when they lost lol.
Yall can blame who Y'all want to and run with that all day, it doesn't matter.
It's the playoffs. Win or go home right? Whether its injury or you lose to a better team doesn't matter.
Trying to separate someone from the team simply doesn't work because it's a team game when it's all said and done.Last edited by 23; 04-27-2017, 10:51 AM.Comment
