Yeah I saw Walker's comments yesterday or a couple days ago can't remember when it first came out. Just saw the teammate thing and it confused me since he's never played here.
Anyway, I don't buy Walker's comments unless he's referring to the Rose/Butler issue that came up. The two of them were pretty much locked in the whole, "who's team is it" thing and there were some reports that Jimmy's attitude had change as he became the best player on the team. With Rose and Noah there that'd be a problem as they were the faces of the team, they were the vets so you can understand if guys feel some kind of way and it creates a divide. These guys now have no grounds to take issue with how they see Jimmy. Most of the roster is new there and they're all mediocre. Jerian Grant, Michael Carter-Williams? Niko, Cam Payne? Which of these guys is really in a position to question Jimmy Butler's treatment on the team? They seemed to all get along from the things I saw and heard throughout the year though.
Really Jimmy was traded for a few reasons. 1) Because GarPax never believed in him to be the best player on the team. 2) Based on that they didn't want to eventually have to pay him the contract he was going to demand when this one was up. 3) He (liked the rest of the locker room) don't respect Fred Hoiberg and they didn't get along. So one of them had to go and Fred has 3 years left on his absurd contract and they ain't paying him and Thibs to go away. 4) GarPax are simply inept and they'll blame any and everybody possible to keep any heat off their own asses.
