    Shams and company obviously can.

I'm just waiting for that inevitable ESPN Woj Insider paywall which is next.
Does anybody actually pay for those insider articles?

Because they're basically tanking, there is no rush here. Everything we're hearing about now is based on teams' current needs. Those needs can change across the league anytime between now and the end of next season.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but like Paul just did, if he goes to LAL next year in a sign and trade they get his Bird rights? That would be the benefit.

I'm on record here saying numerous times Hayward signs elsewhere. That's my pessimistic nature when it comes to sports teams I follow. But let's be real here. Everyone in this forum has heard and read about the Hayward/Celtics connection for some time now. Celtics striking out on him can't be labeled as anything less than a major disappointment.
It's just more fan talk (even coming from the media). His old coach now coaches the Celtics so of course he's going to end up there... same thing they said about Durant "coming home" to DC. Looking through the smoke and around the mirrors, and there literally doesn't seem to be anything else tying him to Boston as a lock.

Yea they would get his bird rights but if they have $60 million in cap space they really don't need his bird rights unless they planned on bringing in a 3rd FA alongside George and whoever else (Lebron or whoever else is available. I don't know the class.).

Chad Ford was posting Insider articles right up to the day he was terminated by ESPN.

Restricting the guy's tweeting until the clock strikes midnight is just the start of this kind of nonsense I believe.

They could have $100 million and still benefit from getting George's Bird rights. They're trying to build a contender. Gonna either need to pay other quality free agents or eventually pay up and coming stars, or both.

If true, that's exactly how you hurt the product. Woj delivers bombs. If you let someone else do it before 12:01 am, you take away Woj's value.

But it's ESPN so what do they understand about proper bomb drops.

Restricting his tweeting is just gonna make him another average journalist. He's known for being first to break news.

It's probably just for today since he doesn't start until tomorrow for ESPN.

The college coach was always the driving force behind the Celtics connection. That doesn't take anything away from the build up to today being any less real.

Doubt Woj becomes an Insider; his value would be shot. He is going to keep doing what he has done so far just now for ESPN.

Kevin Pelton & Co. will continue to be ESPN's NBA Insiders.

As for the whole Celtics/Ainge's pick vs. Paul George discussion it would help if we knew what exactly are the offers people in this forum think would be fair since you guys keep talking in abstraction.

Write it up, what for what would be the trade? With picks included, then we can pick it apart.

Two things.. it's sad I will actually miss him because he's like the best true PG Indy has had in idk how long lol. We've been starved at that position for years. Hill was solid of course but he's more of a combo guard.

And the next thing... how is this not tampering? They apparently already got a 3 year deal in place? That's funny... does the league just not care about that rule so much that a team can make it as obvious as possible they're tampering and expect no repercussions?
