Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The Kings have reportedly offered Otto Porter a four-year, max-deal worth $106 million.
Wowzers.. Wizards will probably match it though.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Do teams purposely offer contracts to players they don't necessarily "want" in an effort to make others teams spend more on a guy that they actually wanted, all in an effort to put a stranglehold on an opposing teams cap?
Kinda like in Auction Drafts. You have 200 to start with. I put up Marshawn for auction knowing there will be some bidders, even though I have no interest in getting him (at least not at the projected price point). I bid it up knowing that someone else REALLY wants him and will essentially pay more to get him. Then I drop out the bidding, allowing the other player to have him.
Now they've spent a huge sum on a player I've never wanted and they will be strapped for cash the rest of the way.
Long example...but I hope it explains what I'm getting at here. LolComment

If he was really serious about winning, he'd sign on for a chance to be apart of what's happening in Chicago. Without him we can win another two or three Summer League titles. Without us he can win one maybe? Together we can win a bunch. Who else can offer him that? [emoji471]

This may be a dumb question. But whatever...

For real, Babbit?"In the morning he would read the Bible with another coach. Then, in the afternoon, he would go out and cheat kids who had probably saved up money from mowing lawns to buy those raffle tickets. That's Jim Tressel."Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Absolutely. Happens all the time. It's why the poison pill contract exists. Houston/Morey spent years signing restricted guys to ridiculous contracts designed to discourage their original team from matching because it would effectively kill their salary cap flexibility signing someone who the other team may only "kinda" want. Omer Asik is a prime example of that off the top of my head. The Bulls did it with JJ Redick before they signed Kyle Korver.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Yeah, this is how it is now.
However, the impact of this poison pill was reduced in the 2017 CBA, when matching teams were given the ability to choose whether the actual or average salary counted toward their team salary.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment
