Y'all notice how free agency been going on for five days now and NOBODY has offered Niko Mirotic's inconsistent *** nothing yet? Dude is a RFA and his name hasn't even been mentioned all week.

Back in the days when the OAKLAND Warriors were considered a small market team by NBA standards.

Gonna keep beating that drum on you, Revis... tough love man. You need to get out your feelings about George leaving. It's making you say some indefensibly crazy things (how you gonna use LBJ going back home as a reason to call it an outlier and ignore George saying he wants to GO BACK HOME to play for the Lakers?).

Take a cue from Jazzman. He had his predictable meltdown, and has otherwise disappeared in mourning or came back staying out of talk related to the heartbreak.

          You mentioned this earlier:

          I'm confused.

So they didn't want to go into the luxury tax to pay him or they were up against the Hard Cap and literally could not spend anymore money?

I never said small markets can't compete though. I said they're at a disadvantage. I don't feel like I'm excusing anyone either. You can bring up their bad draft picks or whatever, which yes they could've done better to retain Hayward, but that's still beside the point. The Celtics haven't exactly drafted well either but here they are getting a get out of jail free card and signing a 27 year old All Star to bolster their roster. Where were Utah's big signings coming from?

I mean it's really a simple point that y'all wanna disagree with for some reason. I never said it's impossible for small markets to get big players or that Indy or Utah couldn't have done better to retain their guys or any of that... just that IMO it's easier for more attractive markets to build their teams because they have a better shot at landing a top FA than others do.

As for the Lance situation, I feel like you're asking the same question here. They could've offered Lance more had they been willing to dip into the tax, no? Unless there's something I'm missing about how the cap works.

It helps to get it all out and **** on the guy as much as possible. I mean aside from the ridiculous hangover, I feel 1000x better. Just have to accept it and move on.

It's crazy that some Laker fans around the net are melting down about us "losing" out on Hill and Waiters. The 2018 plan is definitely high risk, but at least let it fail first before you jump of a cliff.

Lol honestly man I'm not that mad PG wanted out. Maybe it just hasn't hit me yet idk. For sure I don't like it, but we weren't really that close to competing for a title. We had our run with him and been on the decline since. I'm more mad at Bird than PG.

You're right though I did say that lol, but I did say a post or two later you can count Bron if you want. In the end all these signings are circumstantial. A ton of factors go into it, but I feel like the bigger markets have at least SOME advantage. I don't think I should feel wrong for thinking that...

Yea but you were also saying that NBA should have a franchise tag. Don't think the advantage is close to being big enough to make changes like that

So a Jazz fan at the Celts Summer League game is yelling at Ainge telling him he owes the Jazz Avery Bradley.

                      1. How exactly are the Celtics getting a "get out of jail free card"? What does that even mean in this case? Lol

                      2. NBA has a Soft/Hard Cap.

The Hard Cap is number that no team can exceed even if they're paying luxury tax. Whereas with the Soft Cap, you can still exceed that under certain conditions but you still may have to pay luxury tax. Not 100% sure but one of CBA experts can go into further detail about how that works.

Yeah now going over the hard cap means you get hit with that repeater tax.

Doesn't seem like many owners are braving that area. Even Dan Gilbert is probably trying to get away from it.

Because I'm pretty sure outside of a good defensive big who can rebound that was our biggest need on this team. Our 2nd best scorer last year was Al Horford, if he's your second best scorer that's not good.

Or I am basing off the reports I saw earlier today where Chris Mannix reported that we still have interest in Marc Gasol. Like CMH said he doesn't fit the way our bigs play. A mobile guy who can stretch the floor really well. But he fits the exact needs we have left, rim protection and rebounding. So I imagine now Ainge is either going to trade Bradley/Crowder/Smart for that player or just use 1 of the 891918211 cap exceptions and sign one.

I agree completely I would've loved Boogie on this team and I think Danny would've liked Boogie on this team. But Brad didn't want him for whatever reason. I think it was because he was a headcase but I don't remember exactly.
