Yep, although this also dilutes the value of each player and makes it so average salaries are comparatively lower.

Didn't mean it like that. I was in a hard cast for about 7-8 weeks and I couldn't put any real pressure on it. No surgery though. Only time it really hurt was when it got rolled up on and then the next few hours after when it swelled up real quick, lol.

I have torn a ligament in my knee that did require surgery and the rehab for that was a bitch. I'm good now since those happened in my late teens-early 20s but out of those 2, the knee injury was the worst and that happened just from twisting my knee hooping.

Man I loved football growing up, but I wanted to hit...the coaches refused to let me play defense because of my height...so I moved on to basketball. I just wanted to be Derrick Thomas man.

I dont remember ever really talking about or seeing many injuries and stuff like that back then.

Feels like one of those things where we really just didn't pay it much attention back then like we do now. There's those major ones that everybody remembers, but it seems like we always forget about the other less "memorable" ones.

Yeah I'm sure it happened a lot more than I remember...when you're young you arent thinking about that stuff. I remember messing my groin up during a basketball game and I played about two more games before I even got it checked out...

If that happened now you'd have to Paul Pierce me out of the gym..lol

Crazy how life goes, you could've never met Popovic and not become one of the greatest power fowards in history.

                    Would you give IT2 a 5-year $200 million contract?

Someone on ESPN said that's likely what he'll seek after next season, when he'll be over 30 in the first year of such a contract.

Bradley's contract will be due at the same time.

They also have Smart, who will be an RFA at a year from now and Rozier who will have a club option for just over $3 million for the 2018-2019 season, after which he will be an RFA as well.

If they add Fultz to the mix, they will likely have to let either Bradley or IT2 go, unless they can trade them for something in their last year before they become UFAs.

They could try to trade Smart but his shooting stats have been hideous. He was still the #6 pick of the draft 3 years ago.

Rozier has only completed his second season but his shooting isn't much better either.

Maybe they'll have to keep IT2 and Bradley if Smart and Rozier can't become a lot more efficient shooters.

But that $200 million contract for IT2 ...

I wouldn't and i think thats what barkley was saying.

Not that he doesnt think he's good but not that good to tie up 200 mil as the franchise player

I don't usually take age into account too often because some players get better with age and some still have ridiculous contracts deep into their 30s (Kobe, Joe Johnson) but I'm not into giving $50m to a 34 year old Thomas, whose averages of 19 and 5 are decent, but who hasn't really broken out until recently. I doubt he's gonna be putting up 30 a night at 34.

Only other possibility is that he has box office draw and sells a lot of jerseys so the Celtics are willing to pay more than his expected production.

After the family tragedy and that 53-point game, he may be too much of a fan favorite to let get away.

Maybe they give him a $150 million deal to keep him as the face of the franchise.

His next contract is a big reason I'm hesitant, I don't want to lose him but that is a lot of money for a small guard who relies heavily on his athleticism and will be on the wrong side of 30.

Bradley has his own risks but he should be cheaper by a fair amount.

Even if you're confident age won't take a toll on IT's athleticism I'm not sure you can be comfortable giving him 200 million.

Well the same questions may apply to Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul and even Steph Curry, who I believe would be over 30 on the first year of a 5-year $200 million super max deal. Lowry will be a few months from turning 32 at the beginning of next season and Paul will be 32.5. Curry will turn 30 next March, so about half way into next season.

In Curry's case, he's the face of the franchise, has been underpaid, sells a lot of jerseys. Supposedly he's not as close to Lacob as the other players. But the team is going to move into a new arena after next season so they need him to help sell those tickets, which will be much more expensive at the Chase Center.
