2017 Offseason Thread
He doesn't have a say no, but it's kind of a courtesy thing for one. Two, teams are more likely to trade for a player and give you better pieces in said trade if they go into it knowing that the player wants to play for them.

But in this case, Cavs can afford to be patient with this since Kyrie has 2 years left.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 07-21-2017, 07:37 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'll give you Melo but we both know that was all Dolan since he was going to NY either by trade or FA that year.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
San Antonio- I highly doubt Kyrie goes to SA. He is the exact type of player which they shy away from. Pop would blow a gasket watching Kyrie dribble the air out the ball while the 4 other Spurs are cutting, flashing, etc.
Minnesota- What are they gonna do, trade Wiggins back to CLE?Teague can't be traded until December since he just signed. I just don't see them having the moveable parts with what they are building there.
Miami- Dragic and fillers? It's possible. Irving, Whiteside and Waiters is a nice young core.
NY- 2 new hire GMs who could both set their franchises back with the wrong deal. I can't see this happening because Melo is the only tradeable asset but him and LeBron both have player options for '18. CLE could create significant cap room. But who the hell would want to sign in CLE after LeBron leaves?
I don't think Kyrie gets traded to any of those teams. It'll be some dark horse team totally off the radar. Denver? N.O.?Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I also don't think anything will happen. There is no pressure for them to make a move since he has 2 years left and doesn't have a no-trade clause.
But if they do want to make a move, the best time is the present. His trade value is higher now that a team knows it will have 2 years to try and sway him to stay longer. None of the teams he prefers would give Cavs a good return. Only team that makes some sense is the Suns. Team with young talent, but also good vets(Bledsoe or Chandler). None of their young talent is necessarily untouchable. I wouldn't expect anything less than 2 starters and future 1st.Comment
