I'm still holding out for 7'7 Center Dante Gentry, a dude who I don't think exists but is definitely in a draft class I downloaded on 2K. He's eligible 2019 so I'm all on board tank mode so we can have a modern day Muggsy and Bol situation in CLE.

Crowder is on a bargain contract who is a really good player.

You can't trade IT for kyrie straight up man. You got kyrie until 2020. Nothing should bother you about this but the possibility of that nets pick being Michael porter. It's not a heist at all. Right now it's a solid deal for both teams. CLE found the perfect partner. I hate giving up that nets pick. I really do. Crowder and zizic are throw ins. You can replace them in house.

Good trade for the Cavs. Especially if that pick turns to something.

He's under contract so they don't HAVE to deal him, but what people tend to gloss over when bringing that up is that the circumstances aren't normal here. He's under contract for another 2 years, LeBron James however is not. If you're the Cavs, Kyrie and LeBron's relationship is clearly fractured at this point. They got smoked by Golden State with him on the roster with Bron. You basically have to get a base hit every at bat the rest of this season in the 'keep LeBron' push. Can you really afford to be seen by LeBron as not doing anything to rectify this and get him somebody in there that actually wants to play with him now? Unless they've made peace with the idea that he's gone back out the door come summer 2018, I don't see how you can just say "**** it, Kyrie is under contract for another 2 years, I ain't doing nothing."

I say West teams because they were pretty much a lock to get there regardless of who their PG was next season.
Tough to say I think IT is a bit of a liability on defense and can be picked apart in mismatches (more so than Kyrie) but Crowder gives them some needed versatility.

I like this move for both teams right now. Celtics are taking a chance that could make them great in the future or could end up setting them back (a lot riding on draft picks and how good players become). Don't forget that they also have that 2019 Lakers pick that could potentially be 2-5.

Cavs make a trade that keeps them in the mix this year (maybe better?) and gives them options for the future

That's a really bad trade for the Celtics, the Cavs just straight up robbed them.

Why did they refuse to give up that pick in the draft for either of those guys but they give it up now?
Because of the order of operations.

Boston wanted Hayward and another star. Due to cap reasons the Hayward signing had to happen before a trade. The Bulls/Pacers didn't want to wait, and ended up lesser deals.

You think a team with Lebron is going to finish with the worst record in the league?

That would be quite a fall from the top.

                              WOW.

I feel sorry for IT. The man was turning into a folk hero into Boston and you have to assume if he plays anywhere similar to last season he was going to get paid.

Now though, Boston just messed that man over sending him to the Cavs. He has no leverage, his averages are going to drop across the board and his defensive woes are going to be highlighted even more in Cleveland than they were in Boston.

At the same time, Kyrie just got what he wanted. Boston has also freed up minutes for Tatum and Brown at the same time by getting Crowder dealt.
