Other interesting/funny elements about today's Cleveland-Boston trade that i stole from the interwebs:

1. CLE and BOS traded the #1 and #60 picks from the 2011 draft.

2. The 2k18 cover is already outdated before it came out.

3. Will Kyrie have an issue giving interviews to the Boston Globe everyday?

4. Kyrie returns home on opening night (Boston @ Cleveland)

5. IT/Crowder/Zizic combination will save the Cavaliers $19M in taxes. Tax bill goes from $78.4M to $59.2M.

6. First time in NBA history that two players who scored at least 25ppg were traded for one another.

7. Don't forget Boston still has Lakers' 2018 pick.

Those are the biggest points. 2k18 cover outdated. I saw a graphic earlier which was funny showing how Lebron was on cover the season before he let. Durant was on cover the seasons before he left. George was on cover the season before he left. Now Kyrie is on he cover while he's leaving.

And how big of an opening night matchup is that. Unintentional perfectly timed game.

First time two 25+ PPG guys traded for each other?! So this is statistically the most significant trade ever?

Man mixed emotions about kyrie. It saddens me that now everyone in my avatar is now gone. On the bright side, I live in mass so I can now see my favorite player live more often.

Gonna be so strange, my friends and I always compared kyrie to Isaiah and saying who was better over the years. Now I wonder if they flip and say kyrie is the better player.

It's crazy to remember they came from the same draft, and one is 3 years older. Who brought up the "cutoff age" for old/young? Thomas is on the verge of being old, and Kyrie is entering is prime...and will be old in a couple years. The lifespan of a pro athlete.

Hell, look at the 2003 draft, some of the other guys taken in the top 10: Kirk Hinrich, TJ Ford, Chris Kaman, Jarvis Hayes, Mike Sweetney. These guys are old as ****, and LeBron is still the best in the game (we won't discuss who went #2)

It's funny to me... the big fear with Thomas was paying max money to a one dimensional point guard who will turn 29 years old. Now at the end of Kyrie's contract, the Celtics will be paying max money to a one dimensional point guard who will be turning.. 28 years old (unless he opts out the year before).

To be fair, a lot of the talk around IT wasn't just his age but more so his age combined with how small his body is and this recent hip injury.

I think the negativity from the Boston side must be forgetting how young Kyrie is. He's only going to get better. He's the best active prospect in the league outside of Anthony Davis and maybe KAT.

I believe you're forgetting at least one man who enjoys his fair share of smoothies.

Kyrie is indeed good though, but I'm not sure how you can confidently say he's only going to get better. He's essentially been the same player for like 5 years now. In fact, I'd say he's more likely to not improve at this point.

I think there are a lot of players that are better prospects honestly. But most of them carry a larger degree of risk since you at least know for sure you're getting a very good player with Kyrie.
