Good chance I would think. If he comes backs healthy at that point it won't matter. CLE should be fine. It might be better for the team and IT if he sits out until then regardless.

How's the quote being in context change the meaning though? He still singled out Boston as a smart city.

Except the tweet made it seem like he was comparing Boston to Utah by calling Boston smarter.

Hayward was simply responding to a question about the crazed fans in Boston.

No. He was saying educated sports fans know more than non educated ones.

It's a mix of two thoughts while he spoke.

It's not hard to decipher intent if you actually listen to how people speak in regular life.

AD should be in line for the super Max on his next deal. But does he leave $50-70 million on the table to sign with another team? Even if he does, no guarantee that he'd make a team a likely Finals contender.

He puts up massive stats but has made NO at best a borderline playoffs team. Which teams have the cap space and the talent to acquire AD and vault to the top of the league in the next year or two?

Celtics just used their cap space right? So did Washington? In the West, can the Spurs open up cap space? Can the Rockets?
Have you seen the rosters New Orleans has had since he's been there? The best player he'd played with up until last year's trade deadline was Jrue Holiday. That alone should tell you why they've been meh most times but he led them to the playoffs as a 21-22 year old when he was healthy and had help. Add him with any other star that fits his playstyle like a wing or guard (not another high usage big man) and you're probably automatically right behind GS in the West and on par with the Cavs in the East on star power. Imagining him playing in an actual decent system with a franchise that can build a quality roster around him makes me salivate. It's kind of depressing what NO hasn't been able to accomplish after getting so lucky tbh.

My point is, Baron Davis and CP3 got out of New Orleans.

If they lose another franchise player, they just may be snakebit, though back in the day, that owner's family was meddling in the management of both the Saints and the Pelicans so who knows what's going on down there.

NBA contracts are so huge that AD will already have grossed well over $100 million when this second contract he's on runs out.

He could leave and sign a $140 million deal or stay for a $210 million deal. Big difference but even the lower figure is a lot of money.

Actually NO should offer an extension to him as soon as they can, like Washington did with Wall and Houston did with Harden, giving the extensions which will take effect in a couple of years.

I get that part, I was specifically replying to the part about him putting up stats on a borderline playoff team. I was just stating that if there was competent management he'd still be held in higher regard. I still think NO will end up moving to Seattle though.

Soooo Lauri Markkanen suffered a leg injury and had to be helped off the court today in his EuroBasket game.....this is the worst Bulls offseason since the summer of '98.

Damn that's rough news. I was kinda looking forward to seeing how he would look this season too.
