2017 Offseason Thread
Man if he can come anywhere near being like Porzingod I'd feel slightly less good about still pushing for GarPax to be fired. I don't think he will though, but we'll see.

Tiny Latvia beat its giant neighbor Russia Tuesday, 84-69, in Istanbul, but in New York, the big news was that the Nets’ Timofey Mozgov, outplayed his Knicks counterpart, Kristaps Porzingis, early, then watched as Latvia used their big well at game’s end.
Mozgov scored 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting (no three’s), grabbed six rebounds and blocked a shot. Porzingis had 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting, four rebounds and three turnovers. He also fouled out, but helped unsettle Russia in the end.Your best source for quality Brooklyn Nets news, rumors, analysis, stats and scores from the fan perspective.

I'm eagerly awaiting someone to post Summer League stats because they translate so well to the NBA regular season (which cannot come soon enough).Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
That's the main thing that seems to be different between now and previous periods in the league.
When the Celtic and Lakers dominated, teams didn't try to make moves to compete.
When the Bulls had their run, again, you didn't see this level of activity.
Same with the Kobe-Shaq Lakers.Comment

Isaiah Thomas fired his representation and will seek new management headed into free agency. Feel bad for dude, man. Some **** ****ing circumstances headed into what should be his big payday.
Maybe he can benefit from the Rich Paul stimulus now that he plays in Cleveland.Comment

I think the influx of TV money probably helps teams make these kinds of moves.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Probably won't happen before this upcoming season but there's talk about Jabari Parker seeking a max extension, worth as much as $145 million over 5 years.
Bad luck for him with the two ACLs because he was one of the most touted players of his draft class.
Bucks will obviously want to see how he will recover. It could be a make or break franchise decision because they need another star to play alongside Giannis. There's all this talk about other teams poaching Giannis if the Bucks can't make the team contenders.
Bucks were looking to trade Middleton as part of the proposed deal for Kyrie. Would that mean they would have chosen to retain Jabari over Middleton, who's also due for an extension in another season or two? Or if they'd have gotten Kyrie, they would have also looked to move Jabari to avoid having to give him an extension?
Jabari played 51 games last season before the injury averaging 20 on okay efficiency.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Jabari was looking really damn good right before he got hurt this last time. If he comes back from the injury and is fine he'll be more deserving of that offer than some other players who've gotten that type of money. But I still thinks that's too much money to throw at a guy who can't stay on the court.. tricky spot for Milwaukee.
