I love the trade for the Hornets. Dwight isn't what he used to be but he can be what we sorely needed in the middle, and we also got rid of Plumlee which I'm all about.
Good move all around for us.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
So now the story being reported is that Cavs players are warning Jimmy Butler to stay away from 'suddenly volatile' situation in Cleveland. These reporters man. The news about Griffin and LeBron being unhappy about it broke Monday night, so they were well aware of the Griffin situation by the end of the night Monday, that didn't stop them from running with this Jimmy wants to go to Cleveland (that I'm 99 percent sure Stephen A was the first one to report) story literally all day yesterday. All day despite the Griffin story it was Bron and Kyrie going through back channels to recruit Jimmy. Cav players in contact with Jimmy causing him to push for a trade to Cleveland. Soon as Aldridge comes through and shuts them down that Jimmy wants to stay in Chicago and wouldn't sign in Cleveland long term, now the story flips to Cav players warning him not to come because of the Griffin situation. C'mon reporters y'all can do better with your throwing **** against the wall.

Honestly with how poorly Gilbert has handled this Lebron wouldnt need to lift a finger for Cavs fans to turn against Gilbert anyway.

Honestly, I dont think that the Cavs had a chance at Butler anyway. If you guys did that, you would be starting a rebuild. Why would you start that rebuild with a 28 year old power forward with less time and more money on his contract than Jimmy, who is a younger, better player? Would make much more sense to field offers from other teams.Last edited by cavsfan2; 06-21-2017, 12:13 PM.Comment

Interesting tidbit on why the Pacers were reportedly caught off guard with PG's announcement.
It also feels like a betrayal to Pacers management. While it’s true that his homesickness for Los Angeles has never been a great secret, he has told Larry Bird and Kevin Pritchard in private conversations – some of them very recent – that he was willing to see how the Pacers’ past and present brain trust might surround him in an effort to be more competitive in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
Recently, in fact, Pritchard unveiled a plan for George that Pritchard believed would likely make the Pacers a top-four seed in the East, adding free agent pieces and making some trades. George seemed intrigued by the idea. And then, a few days later, the story leaked…
I want out and I want to go to the Lakers.
Here is what I know: George never previously told the Pacers he had every intention to bolt for Los Angeles at the end of next season. Maybe he was playing them for fools, but publicly, privately, he never shared that information, at least until his agent told the Pacers Friday afternoon. If that makes them naïve, then call them naïve, but ultimately, who are you going to believe? Are you going to believe rumors and whispers, presumably from George’s closest friends and associates, or are you going to believe George when he’s speaking to you man-to-man? Maybe that was the Pacers’ biggest mistake: They believed George was a man of his word.
Either way, I don't really have any interest in being "a top 4 seed in the East" with PG leading the way in this Warriors/Cavs era. Finals team or blow it up.

Yeah from the guys I write with they're reluctant to make a story on it because of Sam Amico's "somebody told me this" type of report.
Ive emailed him many yeas ago about being disappointed in him how he plays with words to make stuff seem legitimate when its not. I think at the time he was trying to do that with Paul Pierce and boston trading him when that was never the case.
This was like many years prior to the big 3 thingComment
