Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana Pacers’ trade involving Paul George being completed before Thursday’s NBA draft doesn’t appear imminent.
The Pacers, according to multiple league sources, are considering multiple trade offers for George, but the team doesn’t feel pressure to get a deal done by Thursday.
New team president Kevin Pritchard has engaged in trade talks with teams such as the Houston Rockets, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Washington Wizards and the Los Angeles Clippers have also been interested in acquiring George, according to several media reports.
Those team’s offers, however, have not intrigued the Pacers enough to progress forward to complete such a trade.
Randle/Clarkson #27, #28 isn't enough for the Pacers apparently. Might actually be a blessing in disguise... Until Magic adds the #2 pick to that deal.Last edited by Vni; 06-21-2017, 01:13 PM.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that this was leaked by Lebrons camp. If he is planning to jump ship next offseason, no better way to do that than portraying the Cavs front office as chaotic. Lebron is no fan of Gilbert and went back to the Cavs in spite of him. Lebron was also a fan of Griffin, who was denied more money by Gilbert which resulted in him leaving the team without Lebron being consulted. Saying that Cavs players are warning a star player to stay away due to Gilbert's actions would turn Cavs fans against ownership, which would grease the wheels if Lebron decides to leave. It also wouldnt neccesarily hurt the Cavs trying to get guys since NBA players obviously communicate without the knowledge of the media. Reporters throwing **** on a wall and seeing what sticks is probably more likely, though.
Honestly, I dont think that the Cavs had a chance at Butler anyway. If you guys did that, you would be starting a rebuild. Why would you start that rebuild with a 28 year old power forward with less time and more money on his contract than Jimmy, who is a younger, better player? Would make much more sense to field offers from other teams.
This makes a surprising amount of sense. I'm still convinced LeBron was consulted. Doesn't mean he agreed with the decision, but unless Gilbert was just tired of the LeBron return, or the money he's spending on the team, or LeBron dangling his feet to the fire with the threat of leaving every year I just can't see Gilbert being stupid enough to think getting rid of a guy that LeBron liked this much would be okay, especially the way he went about it.
This reminds me of the Bulls firing Ron Adams behind Thibs' back. You knew that was going to be an issue and it ultimately was. I don't see how you get in a contract year for LeBron and decide to do something like this without even talking to him about it.
Damn [emoji23][emoji23] where's that like button man

What's going in in Indiana? They supposedly turned down 4 first rounders for George and now turn town two 1sts and a player! All for a guy they KNOW is gone after next season.Comment

Hoping for a better offer. They won't get it, but I'm glad they're thinking that way instead of rushing into a deal for Randle and 2 late round 1sts... aka 2 immediate d leaguers who likely won't amount to much and Randle who isn't impressing anyone so far.

This. We not exactly rolling in the light skinned brothas here in the Chi and the ones I do come across still getting their Al B Sure or Klay Thompson on. I've known one light skin dude in my life with braids and that was in '96 or '97 I think. It's like watching lions on Animal Planet for me.

I assume everyone from Chicago looks like Chief Keef and everyone from NY looks like either Papoose or Bobby Shmurda.#RespectTheCultureComment
