Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
It's not contingent on PG signing a deal, they are more than willing to trade for him on a rental. I'd imagine if there are contingencies it's that we sign either Griffin or Hayward first.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The problem is it's those players and a ****ty pick. Smart and Crowder really aren't that good even though the C's and C's fans hype them as the second coming in all these trade talks. Then on top of them, all Danny is ever willing to move is the very worst of the 750,000 first round picks he has.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Celtics fans: We have a good little playoff team coming off an ECF trip. Have a chance to sign a max free agent. Lot's of young exciting talent on the roster too. Oh yeah, and two more really high potential lottery picks in 2018. Good time to be a fan.
Everyone else: Danny Ainge is bad! What the hell is he doing? Sad!
Haha. My favorite thing is people saying stuff like "Ainge is scared to make moves" or some form of that. You gotta totally ignore everything he's done to have that mindset.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
No one's saying they should, I wouldn't. I'd just keep the picks and not get Paul George.
But some of you guys are acting like Indy can either take that Boston offer or lose him for nothing, and those aren't the only options.
And again, they don't have to trade him this weekend. They can wait
I don't think PG's stock is going up any higher. They should probably move him for the best offer now. He's a dead man walking as it pertains to the pacers. Losing value by the minute.Comment

Don't forget this part:
Some Celtics Fans telling everyone how they have the best deal and if the Pacers don't take it, they'll lose him for nothing since they don't have a better deal out there.
But y'all got it though. I'm just waiting for Brown and Tatum to turn into Damian/CJ 2.0 and for the next championship parade in 2020. We gifted y'all draft picks so hopefully it pays off for something meaningful.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 06-30-2017, 04:59 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Mortgaging multiple picks and players for a one-year rental would be insane IMO.
The Celtics have a growing confidence they could sign George to a contract extension, and keep him from leaving to his predetermined free-agent destination of the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told The Vertical. Boston’s belief that it can make George more than a one-year rental is fueling the franchise’s willingness to part with a significant package of assets, league sources said.
Indiana could potentially allow George and his representation to speak to potential suitors about a contract extension should a trade happen, but that permission hasn’t been granted yet, league sources told The Vertical.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I honestly think this is a case of fans of other teams wanting the Celtics to trade for George more than Celtics fans wanting then to trade for George. It's easy to say throw away extremely valuable picks for a guy who has let it be known he want to play in LA after next season.
This sub forum is literally the only place I've seen suggest including those picks is a good idea.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Unless, Pritchard really likes Otto Porter or Gary Harris then I don't really see any offers that are on the table. Maybe Houston trades Capela, Gordon and a couple of distant 1st, but I don't see that as that great either.
Indiana's best bet is either Ainge gets antsy and includes LA's 18 1st or the Lakers get nervous and decide to make a move; but with all of the news that PG is going there regardless, then why would they?
Either way, Indiana really has no leverage and I will be surprised if they get a deal that won't disappoint Pacer fans.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
So Bulls waved Rondo AND Canaan. So we're down to 450 point guards on the roster now. Gotta start somewhere.
