I'm pretty sure the fan ran by Artest and dropped it on him. If he were accurate enough to toss a cup full of beer from that distance and hit Artest squarely in the chest, he needs to try out for the NFL.

In a sense I do understand it as well. My point is less with the, "I don't know what I'd do, but it's possible I may have reacted in a violent manner(similar to Artest- especially considering the circumstances/ environment)" point of view as much as it is with the "If someone throws a beer in my face I'm going after them regardless" crowd.

When did I say(I assume you're talking about me) I wouldn't "fight" for my family? "Fighting" for something doesn't always mean engaging in a physical confrontation. I would rather say that I will always DEFEND my family, if it helps you to look at it that way. Sometimes that defense involves removing you and your family from a volatile situation rather than exacerbating it. If you wont acknowledge that reacting physically will sometimes place your family at risk for GREATER harm, then I don't hold much hope for you or the safety of your family.
