Outside of that, Artest is a hell of a player.

Also, I'm sure (or at least am hoping) that the NBA and the Pacers will find a way to help Artest.

While, I agree that Artest is definitely not all up there, he is definitely aware tha the makes mistakes. His problem is that he doesn't understand the magnitude of those mistakes. But, being that he knows he's wrong for something, I don't think it'll be hard to convince him to seek some sort of help.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

50th chance at what...on the court Artest goes hard from opening tip to the end. The Pacer's aren't going to void his contract...and get NOTHING in return...they are already not obligated to pay him, why would they void his contract?!? That would make absolutely no sense from a business standpoint.

Artest has done the same things numerous other players, he does not have issues, he just realizes that there is more to life than just throwing an orange ball through a red hoop...regardless of how much he's being paid. Now he gets to relax, heal, sell wack cds, and post up in Queensbridge until June...sounds good to me...I wish I could get a year off.

Ok, I take it you dont live in Indiana or follow the Pacers

-his headaches are never real, they are covering up fits he throws when he doesnt get his way

                  - his flagrent foul that cost the Pacers game 6 last season and the ECF

                  - him skipping out on his exit interview with BASKBALL GOD LARRY BIRD

                  - him breaking a camera in NY

                  - him flicking off fans in Miami

So yes, voiding his contract makes a hell of a lot of sense. He cost us one title last year and could very well have cost us one this year

And I dont give a **** what he does this whole year, hes not getting paid at this point nor should he since me, A PACERS FAN, has very little to look forward to since his ACTIONS took a NBA TITLE CONTENDER to a NUMBER 8 SEED AT BEST

I live about an an hour and a half outside of Indianapolis in Cincinnati, Ohio but I never really cared for the Pacers...so you're right I never 'followed' them. Artest didn't cost his team anything...he didn't make the little guy throw the cup at his face, he didn't tell Wallace to try and cave in his Adams Apple, he didn't realize how poor security was that night...where was Rick Carlisle yelling for Artest to stay close to him, why would he let Artest lay on the scorers table? The Pacer coach is to blame for not stepping in and controlling his players, he should have huddled them up right after Artest walked away and defused the situation. You can't blame Artest for acing on instincts b/c that's what they are instincts. Idiots like you who think players owe you something b/c you go to their games, buy their jerseys or shoes are ridiculous...a man is a man, Artest doesn't need basketball..he has enough money, he's in it for the ring (or should be). He's not crying, so why are you. Tell 'Larry Legend' to suit up again, if you can't cheer your little team on anymore, oh well, must suck to be you.

The Pacers have already shown how bad they are w/o Artest, and here you are claiming that by voiding his contract and getting NOTHING in return that it makes a lot of sense....hopefully they do let him go b/c if I was a NBA GM, I would scoop him up in a heartbeat, and have someone on staff that can be a calming mentor or 'father figure' for him...that's all he wants.
