2017-18 Transaction Thread
You talking about Amir Johnson?
He’s been terrible(numbers wise since I haven’t watched him this year)compared to Booker and if we’re talking outside shooting, Booker has the edge this year.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 12-07-2017, 09:09 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017-18 Transaction Thread
Yeah I meant Amir, don’t know his percentage this season just knew he’s been a reliable outside shooter when open for the past few years now. Regardless he only plays a few minutes a game, along with Holmes, even TLC gets a few minutes at the 4, all behind Saric who gets starter minutes there. And now they add Booker to that logjam.
Maybe they’ll make Johnson/Holmes exclusively back up 5’s behind Embiid, but either way they traded a young talented big because they couldn’t fit him in their rotation, just like they can’t get consistent minutes from all the other bigs on the roster, and replaced him with another big.
Not that Booker isn’t talented enough to make a difference, I just struggle to see where he’ll get enough run to really provide an impact. Maybe he will, I would think Holmes would be the guy that fits best off the bench for them going forward. And even if Booker took pretty much all of Amir’s minutes you’re only look at maybe 10-15 minutes a game. Possibly even less when they get back Fultz and figure out a way to work him into the rotation.
I think the Nets did well in this trade, but the Sixers could have done better IMO. Even if they just shipped him off for a 2nd rounder somewhere they would have that pick and their own still.

The pick they shipped off was the Knicks’ and it’s for 2019. What’s funny is that was part of a Travis OutLOL trade, lol.

Bulls guarantee David Nwaba’s contract for the remainder of the season. GarPax actually making a smart decision in picking him up in the first place and picking up his deal for the year now as well.

The Lakers had to get rid of him to give KCP a few extra hundred thousands of dollars, such a bad call.Bulls guarantee David Nwaba’s contract for the remainder of the season. Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Trade talks regarding a Derrick Favors-Nikola Mirotic swap have reportedly progressed past the preliminary stages and are now getting serious.

Brooklyn, y’all know what to do
Forward Stanley Johnson is one name that has come up in the Pistons’ conversations with other teams, per ESPN sources. Opposing teams have come away with the impression that Johnson is available for the right return.
Thompson might be available but good luck finding takers:
The Cavaliers are not good right now — they have lost 3-of-7, have the second-worst defense in the NBA, LeBron James is yelling at the team on the sidelines and asking them to do some soul searching.
Do the Cavaliers need to make a trade to shake this team up and give them a chance against the Warriors? Would DeAndre Jordan be enough?
If Cleveland finds a deal it likes, it would move center Tristan Thompson — who has fallen back in the rotation, Kevin Love starts at center — reports Shams Charania of The Vertical at Yahoo Sports.
Multiple NBA teams have cited Tristan Thompson as an asset Cleveland is willing to move in the right deal, such as one for the Los Angeles Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan.
What I’ve heard is right now the Clippers would want Thompson and the Brooklyn Nets first-round pick for this season in the deal (the Cavaliers have the rights to that pick via the Kyrie Irving trade with Boston), but the Cavaliers are not throwing that pick in. Would the Clippers do it for Thompson and the Cavaliers first-round pick (in the mid-20s)?
Cleveland would throw that Nets pick in the mix if Paul George were available out of Oklahoma City, but he is not. The Thunder are going to ride this season out with the guys they have. Same with DeMarcus Cousins down in New Orleans. Barring something unforeseen in the next month, the best guy on the market will be DJ. And while Jordan would be a significant defensive upgrade in the paint, he’s not putting Cleveland near the Warriors right now.
It’s something to watch, but this has been a very tight trade market so far, according to sources. Combine that with Thompson’s old-school game — he is physical, he can rebound, he can roll or make cuts to the rim, but he can’t score outside of 10 feet — and there simply may not be a deal worth throwing Thompson in for the Cavs. That said, it’s on the table.#RespectTheCultureComment

Jordan for a top 10 pick should be a no go.

Cavs’ own pick isn’t going to finish in the Top 10, lol.
