Lakers are in an extremely interesting spot now because they can wait on Kawhi until next summer and not have to give up anything at all. Only problem with that is LeBron isn't getting any younger.

I know you’re probably not singling me out but in my defense I just want to see PG win and have a chance at a ring lol(yeah I’ve let go of the hate on him lol). But I don’t think that’s going to happen in OKC. I wouldn’t have called him cheap or crucified him for joining LeBron either... that’s today’s NBA, superteams run the league.

Yes, please wait until next year. How sweet it would be to watch the LeBron and the Baby Lakers/Meme Team get bounced in the 1st Round.

Personally I didn't roast either, KD joining GS was just kind of annoying because of how good they would become. As for PG I just don't really get it. He sounded like he really wanted to play for L.A. At first I got it because it looked like the lakers were gonna strike out on FA again. But I am pretty sure he knew LBJ was coming so it's just a little wierd. But I ain't even roasting him, I was never that crazy about him to begin with. Although he is a FA and that means we could have kept the young core aswell.

Lakers fans seem to be the only upset ones and I think it's because George kept saying he wanted to come to LA and then ended up not even giving them a meeting.

Sounds like to me he just developed a really strong friendship with Westbrook and wants to stay there. Nothing more, nothing less.
The thing that seems beyond crazy is that he didn't look at his options. I mean when I buy a pair of shoes I go to every store and then go check online to read reviews. He chose to spend the last years of his prime (likely) to a team that is going no where. He didn't even look at what his options are which included his hometown team with the best player in the NBA and a better chance to win a ring. He may have ended up in OKC anyway I just don't see what the harm or rush is to check out what the Lakers and Philly have to offer before making a impulse decision.

Doubtful they'd get bounced early. They won 35 games last year, LeBron alone is good for 15+ wins. Plus we know they're not done making moves yet.

For what it's worth, both Kevin Pelton and 538 project the Lakers to win 52 games next year if they re-sign Randle and don't make any trades.

538 also mentions that a trade of Ingram, Kuzma, Deng, and future first round picks for Kawhi would bump them up to roughly 60 wins.

People are hypocrites, man. And will say whatever they feel so it fits their argument/agenda, facts and logic be damned.

We criticize guys(mainly stars because nobody would care if this was Smush Parker we were talking about)who take the so called “easy path” to a championship(which is THE thing that we ultimately judge players by)and **** on them when they’re just comfortable in their current situation(we can put money in this category).

Notice how nobody has yet to call out Kawhi for supposedly wanting to team up with Lebron though. All we’ve heard about that is “SPURS DID THIS TO HIM” and “FAKE SOURCES!!!!!!1111!2!!!!”.

Wait Kawhi wanted to go to the Lakers only after LeBron came?

Unless I’m tripping, could’ve sworn I said “supposedly” in that post, which usually implies if something is or isn’t true.

Aside from the "super team", the two situations are not alike.

KD had been with the thunder his whole career and his team was GOOD. They made the NBA finals at a young age previously. They made the Western conference finals 4 out of their last 6 years. And they were up 3-1 on the Warriors the year he decided to bounce. They were in a situation to win it all already. They were one of the championship favorites every year.

You can't say any of that with PG. No one expects OKC to be any better this year. They'll be getting bounced out early in the playoffs like they have been the last two years. He was traded to the Thunder for one year, so there is no loyalty argument. And Bron > Westbrook.

People are giving PG **** because it was dumb if he cares about winning and he wants to compete for a title... people gave KD **** because everyone knows he had the tools to be an NBA champion already in place. But he took the easy road and joined the best team in NBA history THAT JUST ELIMINATED HIM FROM THE PLAYOFFS in a seven game series that he was UP 3-1 on.

I doubt he goes full heel like that.

That would be pretty insane if it went that route. I mean hell, he sat out last season. Played only what, 9 games? Anything is possible I guess.
