Probably wouldn't have signed that cheap anywhere else. They sold him on rehabbing, winning a ring then going back on the market next year.

He probably wasn't going to accept the taxpayer exception from most teams, and other teams weren't going to pay a large one year deal or a multiyear deal for player who isn't going to be ready until January as a best case scenario. No other team was really in a great position to take this high risk, high reward chance.
