People really forget this. This wasn't Stern the commissioner vetoing the trade, it was Stern the owner. They get all hot and bothered about this trade but I haven't seen 1% of the same vitriol for Dan Gilbert because he refused to deal Kyrie to the Suns for Paul George (they have vitriol because he screwed up with Lebron on the team.

I doubt we were actually in on Boogie. When was a part of trade rumors last year we had 0 interest because Brad didn't want anything to do with the headcase Boogie.

I’m not saying it’s not true because neither of us know or will ever know...but things can change over a year. Hell, I’m sure a few months ago, Golden State didn’t want anything to do with Cousins after trying to fight half of the team, yet here we are.

This is the ultimate **** you move from Boogie. He’s like y’all don’t wanna pay me after this injury, I’ll go here to be underpaid.

Lawd, so this means Cousins can now do no wrong.

Best case scenario is that him and Dray go at each other and destroy this team from the inside. Boogie ain't with the chest poking and 3AM texts like KD was [emoji38]

If Boogie was out there for peanuts available to be had, I highly doubt Brad would have passed that up talking about "headcase." Now I can understand him not wanting to trade for him during the year and be on the hook for his salary for the year and having to pay him the big extension he was looking at during that time frame because "headcase." Especially if Sacramento ONLY took peanuts back from NO. Cause it's one thing to pass it up at the deadline because of his personality when you've gotta to give up assets. It's another thing entirely to keep all your assets AND add Boogie for bargain basement prices.

If Boogie wants to be mad at somebody, be mad at the NBPA for not electing to smooth the cap over multiple years instead of the drastic spike we saw in 2016.

They had to get their money in 2016. "The players have to get paid!" Now guys like Cousins are getting scraps while Mozgov and Deng are set for life (not that Boogie isn't obviously, but you get it).

OKC doesn't have any floor spacing or 3 point specialists. They are probably hoping Fergurson takes that next step but he just looks like Terrence Ross to me.

Denver can't find anyone to take Faried's contract. If Quincy Acy can put in the work to become a reliable 3 point shooter I have no idea why Faried hasn't taken that step to expand his range. And if not that, at least improved his post game (faceup game at least).

Portland has an owner that's content to stay put and keep earning revenue by virtue of his team being just good enough to get to the playoffs, but not being good enough to beat anyone come playoff time.
Utah has room to improve. Losing Rubio a brand new guy takes your team down that far you gotta add more. Isojoe left too but he gave Houston nothing but worked well in the Jazzs pace.

OKC delaying the inevitable and paying way too much money for first round exits.

Denver would be a fun team with a star and a half added in the future.

I meant this upcoming season not with free agency. I think they both have enough talent to make a big leap (both need good health, tho).

And if Kawhi comes back, which looks likely for one more season, and the team finds a solid back up center, the Spurs could still be very, very dangerous (if he doesn't attempt to sit out).

All these young guards will be a different look and likely no Parker or Ginobili since 2000.

No...Boston actually needs help to beat GS. That would've been awesome actually, a BOS/GSW 2019 Finals would've been hella interesting with GSW standing pat, maybe adding some young depth vs. Boston at full health + Boogie.

I was already coming to terms that this was actually gonna be a non-LeBron Finals year...now it's just like lol okay, why does anyone even play this year?

Eh. I'm always on the side of players getting what they think they are worth.

Is this a worrying new trend of players thinking they aren't getting what they are valued and thus going to a team they think they can compete for a championship and rehab their market value? Maybe.

I've seen plenty of people in real life make lateral moves after being lowballed at their current company, go somewhere else, then go back to the company they used to work for and command a higher salary.

I mean there's competitive spirit, and then there's being insulted so much on a personal level (lowball offers) that that goes out the window and this falls right in line with Boogie's personality.

Golden State is the only team that could convince Cousins to take such a pay cut. No other team is as sure a bet.

Someone get Marc Spears off SC

Dude is saying Boogie had zero offers until this, and that Cousins himself is expecting to be healed and ready to go by training camp.

                              If all that is true..

Wow. DeMarcus said he got NO offers. Marc Spears was just on Sportscenter, he just got off the phone with Boogie.

Says that after he got zero offers, he was confused/hurt. Around 5 am in Vegas, he walked out onto his balcony thinking things over because he had wondered how his injury would affect his free agency back around the All-Star break when it happened. Says that he called his agent and they started talking about different scenarios and one of the scenarios that came up was Golden State. So early in the morning he called Bob Myers (Warriors GM), talked to him, Bob of course said he was shocked that Boogie called them and was interested in taking the MLE. DeMarcus says he then spoke with Steph, KD and Draymond and their excitement about having him on the team "lifted his spirits" and it surprised him how excited they were and it made him really want to come to Golden State even more. So around 8 pm he called Golden State back and told them he was coming. Spears said DeMarcus called it "his chess move, his ace."
