No way in hell Lakers should trade anything other than Deng for Kawhi. No one else is winning the chip this year, just sign Kawhi outright next year and retain assets

With top players making as much in endorsements as they do in salary it'll keep happening.

        If all that is true..

That's even more insulting than lowball offers.

        If true.

That's like balling out your senior year of highschool, then getting injured and all of a sudden all your scholarship offers get rescinded.

        That **** had to burn.

        If true.

Edit: It is true. WOW. NBA ain't go no one to blame but themselves. He did right by himself.

Around 5 am in Vegas, he walked out onto his balcony thinking things over because he had wondered how his injury would affect his free agency back around the All-Star break when it happened. Says that he called his agent and they started talking about different scenarios and one of the scenarios that came up was Golden State. So early in the morning he called Bob Myers (Warriors GM), talked to him, Bob of course said he was shocked that Boogie called them and was interested in taking the MLE. DeMarcus says he then spoke with Steph, KD and Draymond and their excitement about having him on the team "lifted his spirits" and it surprised him how excited they were and it made him really want to come to Golden State even more. So around 8 pm he called Golden State back and told them he was coming. Spears said DeMarcus called it "his chess move, his ace."

          There you go

and there goes Chris Haynes lying about multiple offers.

I'm expecting a Player's Tribune article by tomorrow.

Someone needs to hit up Boogie on twitter (I ain't got one) and tell him to get an article up on there.

but still It's 5.3 mill that's it. 60% is still likely to bring them value i think.
And he had very little explosion/athleticism to begin with. Plus, he's a hothead, ill tempered and hasn't tasted any real team success.

It is very, very unlikely he can **** this situation up, though.

On another note, Anthony Davis will likely be a full - time center with Cousins gone and Julius Randle signed.

Not one GM thought it was a good idea to even ask if Boogie wanted the MLE? Or if he had any interest in playing for them on a one year deal?

What about a rebuilding team with hopes that Boogie likes the new city...or the fact that the team believed in him. Maybe he would be loyal to that.

That's the real joke. These GMs get paid money to fantasize about attracting LeBron when everyone knows where he's going or to have cap space for Durant like his free agency is actually free. Owners should be yelling at their GMs right now for this.

He hasn't been moved and is still under contract for another year. What made you think he left?

He's likely gone either during or after next season, though. Can still try to squeeze some juice out of the rotten fruit.

That is all contingent on him not sitting out with another "injury" or to try to force a trade.

Basically. You would be amazed...I've worked in Pro Sports and Local Government. Two very different arenas. But what they have in common is that only about 15-20% of people (from the CEO to the Janitor) actually know how to properly do their jobs, much less be excellent or even good at it.

I've seen plenty of people in real life make lateral moves after being lowballed at their current company, go somewhere else, then go back to the company they used to work for and command a higher salary.

I mean there's competitive spirit, and then there's being insulted so much on a personal level (lowball offers) that that goes out the window and this falls right in line with Boogie's personality.
Oh, that's not what I meant at all...just poking fun at the upcoming Warriors wave...

Dont blame GSW, or DMC for their decisions at all...never will. That's what free agency is all about...

DeMarcus isn't making LeBron, Kevin or Steph money in endorsements. He's taking a huge, huge gamble if he suffers a setback, comes back too soon (sounds like it) or isn't close to the same player (think Kobe, Chauncey Billups or Elton Brand).
