Yeah I saw that on Ennis, this is a guy I've wanted and he comes in for a 2 year contract and will essentially be Ariza at like 1/10th of the cost.

At this point I think he’s a better offensive player, for the price it’s a good replacement even if it’s a dip defensively. I liked him a lot with Memphis.

I think ennis is a + offensively over ariza. on open looks he shot 52% from mid and 34% from 3 compared to arizas 25% and 35% PnR wise they were a wash defensively but ariza had the capability to let them play small ball by sliding to the 4 and im not sure ennis can do it

We never played Ariza at the 4 even in our smallest lineups during the season. That was usually Mbah A Moute or Tucker, as the majority of both of their minutes were at Power Forward last season. Even the time Ariza logged at the 4 during the playoffs, was a direct result of Mbah A Moute being injured during the playoffs which threw our rotation out of wack. On top of that Ennis logged more time at PF this season than Ariza did. He will be fine.

Neither Ariza or Ennis are well suited to play the 4. And I didn’t see much, if any, where Houston played Ariza at the 4 as part of their game plan. Maybe when KD slid to the 4 they had Ariza at the 4 by default because that was his matchup, but other than that he was always at the 3.

That LeBron mural one guy painted kept getting vandalized so he just painted over it today to a blank wall.

They have a possible suspicion though on who kept messing up his painting.

Raptors are suddenly the faves to land Kawhi?

DeRozan suddenly deleted everything from Instagram, and now I see this, I wonder if perhaps he's part of the deal? I mean no way Spurs will take on Lowry for Kawhi, right? Especially since Lowry/Gay duo didn't exactly work out well the last time they were together.

Kudos to the Raptors for actually making a move if that’s the case. This almost all but guarantees Kawhi leaves and goes wherever he wants after this season right? Unless all rumors are smoke, they have to realize this is a rental no? IMO swapping DeRozan + more for Kawhi doesn’t get them any closer to a ring. Maybe a better shot at the finals, but they would be swept.

If they at least make finals though, maybe that's their hope? In free agency, you can at least be like "What have we done lately? How about making the NBA finals.", which is a better selling point than "We made the ECF a few years ago".

Masais long term goal seems to be beyond 2020(almost all their contracts come off the books in that 2020 offseason, and DeRozan has an option, but he's probably declining to get more money). So whatever they give up for Kawhi, as long as it's not a piece that'll impact their team beyond the next 2 years, I think he'll go for it. 2 steps forward and taking 1 step back after.

That's why I'm hoping it's Lowry that goes. Get rid of Lowry, let Wright/FVV be the PG duo, and see what happens this year. After Kawhi leaves in free agency, Raptors will have less money on the books in 2019 free agency than they would with Lowry. Might even make things easier trying to deal Ibaka on expiring deal next offseason and perhaps get a head start on that 2020 offseason.

i really hope this derozan for kawhi thing is legit and happens within the next day or so.

would be good for both teams.

I'd throw in a future 1st round pick with the condition on it being that IF Kawhi re-signs, Spurs also get that 1st. Not that it's likely he'd stay (though you never know, being in Canada, basically living in a different world than if he was in Texas, California etc. It might change his mind on where he wants to play), but if he wants to, then great.

If everything we’ve heard about Kawhi over the past month now is even remotely close to being true I can’t imagine that he’ll even finish this season in Toronto if this trade goes through.

Maybe I’m off, but I think for San Antonio they would be doing what’s best for them, while Kawhi I think might force himself into another trade before the season even starts. You only have to wait like 60 days to trade him again right?
