Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
If everything we’ve heard about Kawhi over the past month now is even remotely close to being true I can’t imagine that he’ll even finish this season in Toronto if this trade goes through.
Maybe I’m off, but I think for San Antonio they would be doing what’s best for them, while Kawhi I think might force himself into another trade before the season even starts. You only have to wait like 60 days to trade him again right?

By that, I mean they trade for a guy because his current team doesn't want to trade within the division. They even take a lesser return to ship him out of the division. However, the team he gets traded to ends up trading him the first chance they get to a team in that very same division and get that higher return.
Though I can't imagine Raptors doing that. Apparently Buford is one of Masais mentors(or friends? Or something like that), so he wouldn't do anything to burn them.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Kawhi is not going to the Raptors man. It's a pipe dream.
Is Masai trying to blow the team up then? Cause that move makes no sense. Lowry is the one that needs to go. Dude has cemented his legacy as post season choker at this point moreso than DeMar, he's 31 as opposed to DeMar being 28 and I can't really see what changes swapping out DeRozen with Kawhi to team up with Lowry and a worse Raptors supporting cast.Comment

the lowdown from raptors reddit is that derozan has done this multiple times before and it likely has nothing to do with a team swapComment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Cavaliers apparently rejected a trade offer from the Hawks to move up to number 3 on draft night. So I guess they weren’t high on Doncic, and it was also said that Gilbert wanted Trae Young while other member of the Cavs FO wanted him to take Sexton.
Gilbert is the reason this team will always be incompetent.
Dude didn’t keep Griff who’s the only person he’s had to continuously make the right moves (assuming because he wasn’t going to trade Kyrie), and now is back to doing the same dumb **** he’s always done apparently. At least Sexton will be a nice player for them. Good thing Altman and whoever else didn’t give in, and that Young went early.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Seems like if Gilbert wanted Trae and Cleveland balked on a move to get him, then maybe Gilbert isn’t actually a huge issue anymore? Seems like an odd time to attack him when he didn’t even get his way (reportedly).

Lolol Gilbert's one of the best owners in the NBA. Dude does nothing but lose money on the team just to see them compete for championship.
In what universe did Griffin make the right moves? Hes to blame for JR and Thompsons contracts. He also kept trading away FRP after FRP after FRP
This is a horrific take man, for the sake of OS, so better next time.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
How much is anyone willing to bet with me that this is the same guy that just got banned for going off on everyone in the LeBron thread and was telling us he would never leave Cleveland and that his kids aren’t in charge etc.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Shams Charania of Yahoo is about to be a free agent.
From the New York Post.
So if Yahoo doesn’t retain Charania, where could he wind up? ESPN could basically end the NBA scoop game by reuniting Wojnarowski and Charania in Bristol. Besides Wojnarowski, ESPN already has a strong array of NBA reporters, including Ramona Shelburne.
Turner/NBA TV/Bleacher Report could try to make a bigger impact in terms of competing with ESPN. Charania worked on Turner’s team-centric Final Four telecast that included his alma mater, Loyola. The Athletic, the two-plus-year-old subscription site that has raised $20 million, could try to build an NBA vertical around Charania the way it has with Ken Rosenthal on baseball.
Another option, according to sources, is NBC Sports Regional Networks. NBC owns the rights to about a third of NBA local broadcasts, including the Celtics and Bulls. It is looking for a national insider to appear on its pre- and postgame local shows across the country. Besides Charania, NBC has shown interest in Yahoo’s Chris Mannix for the job. Mannix already does work for NBC.Comment

How far “out there” would a Gasol to Boston trade be? Be their “6th man” type of big.
