    Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread

    Heat re-signed Udonis Haslem.

I honestly thought he retired years ago. To be fair, he's played 67 total games since 2015, averaging 7 minutes a night. Don't know why the Heat would even want to pay him to take up a roster spot. Just let him retire and make him a coach.

I think he's the 4th oldest player in the league now? After guys like Manu, West, retired, and I believe some of the other older guys don't have contracts? And will be one of oldest non drafted players in NBA history. Darrell Armstrong I think has that record at age 39. Haslem is 38.

Is he really taking a roster spot from someone considering he’ll be inactive and on the bench most of the time.

A lot of teams have guys like this on roster, so this is no different.

Udonis has really been there his entire career, that’s dope.

Before it makes its possible rounds in the news this week, I'll pour some water on latest Kawhi news. He bought(not rented) a house somewhere around Toronto. No doubt media will discuss what this means at length.

But, he doesn't seem like a condo guy anyways, and what's the point of renting when you have money? In this city, house prices are crazy. Buy a house this year, by next year its value goes up a decent amount, and that's not even considering any renovations.

I'm actually surprised more guys in sports don't do this. I know lots run into bad investments, but with all the money they make, doesn't seem like it'd be so bad buying a house without needing any extra money, spending up to 100k on renovations, and selling it for more than they spent. Especially the newer development areas.

Or run side deals like buying up a bunch of condos and leasing them. Make money on rent and value goes up gradually over time.

Don't know what American real estate market is like, but I know for sure up here guys would be able to do that.

I imagine most rent because of the fact they can be moved in an instant and probably find it pointless to lay roots down in a city they won’t be living long.

I know Deron rented in NY during his tenure with the Nets.

It's not exactly laying down roots, it's making business investments. And typically the bigger money guys are the less likely to be moved ones.

Speaking of Kawhi, sounds like he will have his press conference.

Next Friday, I wouldn't be surprised if it's afternoon as well. Danny Green also gonna be part of it. I'm sure they'll try making Green the focus of it all, having him dominate all answers.

Man Thibs I don’t know what he’s expecting to happen here.

As expected, Luol Deng agrees to a one year, $2.4 million deal with the Timberbulls. They’re officially one piece away from being the full out Chicago Bulls north.

Thibs clearly comes from the Doc Rivers coaching tree. If you played for, and helped one of them win at any point, you have a roster spot for life.

But imagine those Bulls with a healthy Rose + Wiggins and Towns?

How many games does it take for LeBron to beat them? 6?

If they were all healthy plus Wiggins and Towns? Are we saying all of them currently with a healthy current Rose or all of them as they’re 2011-2013 selves and healthy? If it’s healthy and their previous selves, they’d sweep LeBron. Yeah I said it. Come at me bros

So is Andrew Bynum really making a comeback?
