And not like they hired Kawhis uncle to do something for the team, they got a video coordinator who has been with Spurs for years, working with Pop too. Fact that he has a long history with Kawhi is a bonus. Masai has looked up to the way the Spurs have done things for years. That's been the type of organization he's trying to make Raptors like, so bringing someone from their staff isn't too surprising. Not to mention before the Kawhi deal even happened, a Spurs assistant was one of the frontrunners for the Raptors coaching job too.Last edited by Majingir; 08-21-2018, 10:07 AM.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Good to see Kawhi healthy and balling with Cedi, LBJ & KD....[emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]
I hope he kills out there for Toronto and regains his elite form....🤞🤞🤞
Side note: Goodness, that man's hands are freaking huge! You never notice until you see a picture like this and how his hands literally envelop the basketball....

I’ve been seeing that picture everywhere and fail to see the significance of it.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
The end is near....
Manu Ginobili, 41, is seriously considering retirement after a 16-season run with the Spurs, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Gonna be weird with no Ginobili or Parker on the floor (for the Spurs) for the first time in 17 years......

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
So Woj is reporting that the board of governors will be meeting Sept 20-21 voting on three rules changes recommended by the Competition Committee.
1) Resetting shot clock to 14 seconds after offensive rebound
2) Simplification of clear-path foul rule
3) Expanding definition of “hostile act” for purposes of triggering replay.
Changes need two-thirds approval from teams to pass. Woj is reporting that the board of governors will likely pass those three measures.
I’m fine with the second two, but that first one is trash. Why should the offense be punished for the defense being unable to grab a rebound?

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
FIBA has been this way since 2014, so has the great WNBA.
On a site note Kyrie is now Little Mountain.
Pretty cool, apparently his mother was a Lakota Indian and was given a honorary name by them.
He has embraced his Indian heritage and even gave them a 7 figure donation last year.
One thing I have never understood is the Indian names. Like Big Eagle, Sitting Bull.
Why do they use the English words for their names? Why not use their own language. It has honestly always bothered me.
I am the last person that should be telling them what to name themselves. But it just never made sense to me.
