Someone please explain to me how this wouldn't have been perfect for the Bulls? Get the 14 from Denver on Tuesday or whenever it was they were desperately trying to get rid of Faried, draft Carter at 7, Porter at 14 and have him potentially sit out next season and hope you can move some body for a good pick next year. Or draft Porter at 7 he sits out next season and you have a second year of tanking to make a run at one of the top guys in next year's draft.

I gotta think Porter slipped because it's too risky for a rebuilding team.

I understand Porter has tremendous potential but oh boy imagine if Chicago drafted him and he's never the player he could be because of his back?

I think Porter, even if 100% healthy, is just ridiculously overrated. But even at that I don’t think you take the risk of taking him much earlier than he went. You got to remember there is a big difference in the amount of money you pay a guy drafting him top 5 verse 14. Most owners aren’t going to spend an extra few million when they’ve got a 30%-40% chance that the guy will never be 100% again. Especially since they don’t know that 100% even means he’s a good NBA player.

I don’t know the percentage that back injury guys get back to 100%, especially on guys 6’10+, but I’m guessing it’s not enough to risk millions when you can get someone who is at least healthy. And it’s not like we know that when he’s healthy he’s a great NBA player. He’s as much of a risk as anyone else in the draft is. With him we didn’t even get to see him play great in college even..

This is why I don't listen to the Knicks fans angry over the Knox pick.

We don't know if Porter can play basketball at a high level! We don't know from a talent perspective and from a health perspective. That's scary.

Denver is in position to take the blow. It would suck if he can't perform as hoped but Denver has a good team and can survive.

The lottery teams could set themselves back several years. A whole year of sucking and then having nothing to show for it.

Ask fans in New York how fun that is. And that's for both teams there.

That’s a win/win for me. Either he hits his potential and becomes a superstar or the back is never right and GarPax gets fired. I’ve reached the point where I legitimately am torn between team success and failure to get them out.

Me and Yeah...That Guy have been beating this drum since the Fall. Porter Jr is pretty darn overrated. He's a stretch 4 who thinks he's a SG, has no handle, isn't an explosive athlete, doesn't pass or rebound well, and isn't agile: his change of direction is poor. He's so stiff. That was pre-back injury too, even in his HS tapes. A majority of his HS offense was taking one or two dribbles and shooting over people. He struggled to get to the rim. He doesn't have one iota of craftiness to his game. I'm not a fan of any aspect of his game.

That being said, he'll probably wind up being a first ballot HOFer.

I'm not sure there's a dumber fanbase than ours when it comes to drafting. So many buy into hype or athleticism. I 100% believe Knox has more natural ability than Porter.

So many of our fans wanted Mudiay over KP. It was plain as day from his HS/China tapes that he was overrated as hell. Average athlete with no standout skill.

Tons of fans wanted Josh Selby years ago. The dude was awful but hey, he was the #1 ranked recruit coming out of HS so let's blow a mid-first round pick on him.

Even reading around the web after the Knox pick, quite a few who were pissed on draft night and wanted Porter have come around after doing a little research. I really don't know how anyone can watch all the tape we have on Porter and be excited about the kid.

I’m really excited to see Doncic play in the NBA. Having lived in Europe for the last few years and living in or near cities with Euroleague teams, I’ve seen some guys who’ve gone on to the NBA (Abrines, Ingles, Kuzminskas) and I’ve never seen anybody play in EuroLeague or the ACB and look anywhere near as good as he does.

I dunno if he’s ‘NBA-ready’ and there might be an adjustment period, but I’m gonna enjoy watching his process so much. I might have to pick up Dallas as a West team.

Bruh I'm a Rockets fan and I have to low-key root for the Mavs on the side because I want to see Doncic succeed. Is this suffering?

Looking forward to seeing Doncic play too. A lot of Suns fans debating if we should take Doncic but I'll take Ayton/Bridges all day over Doncic/and whatever big we trade for.

Too bad we probably won't see Doncic in the Summer League since he's had a long seasons this year and the Mavs will rest him until pre season

Knicks fans are really mad that their team passed on a player who played a total of 3 college games and had medical concerns showing up in his physicals. Typical.

Knox is a great player, if you payed attention to him in college then you’d know that.

Porter may eventually be a good player he was just to much of a risk to take with a player at the same position with less concerns like Knox. I also heard Porter rubbed people the wrong way with his interviews comparing himself to KD and all that.
