Shams reporting that the Rockets have emerged as a suitor for KCP from the Lakers.
The Houston Rockets are emerging as a suitor for Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in a multi-team trade scenario, league sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania, who reports the Phoenix Suns are also in the mix.
Teams involved would need to search for a fourth team to acquire Brandon Knight's contract along with draft picks from the Rockets, sources told Charania.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
That just adds to the list of "should be small forward" players on the Lakers roster. Bron, Ingram, Kuz, Lance, Beas, Ariza, and takes away one of the only big rotation guys they have capable of being a true two-guard outside of Hart. Ingram and Lance both play the position, but it's somewhat of a wonky mix with either of them.
KCP is also pretty solid defender, though watching him not contest 3's is maddening. But he also plays the last minute or two of every close game and is really their main option to close the game at the line.Comment

I'm still not sold on swapping KCP for Ariza being a big upgrade for the Lakers.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
And him going 7 for 36 in the last 3 games on mostly open looks is also a big reason why they couldn’t pull out a win.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Well no, but there’s also no guarantee that Ariza really makes them any better overall than keeping KCP, meaning they could just be making a lateral move and at the same time getting older, replacing one of Bron’s guys with someone he historically doesn’t care for, and losing a big part of what’s helped them close out some of these close game wins.
I just feel like if they were going to deviate from the original plan of sticking with the young guys a move that was more of a clear cut upgrade would make more sense.

KCP is leaving next year anyways and Ariza is also on a 1 year deal. Better KCP going than any of the young core and it’s not like PHX would take Lance and Beasley. Plus when Rondo comes back, KCP loses minutes anyway

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Pack news:
Nets are giving Spencer Dinwiddie a 3 year, $34 million contract extension. Player option on that third year according to Woj.
You're welcome Pack. Yet another dumb *** decision for the GarPax regime. Let's cut Dinwiddie for RJ Hunter. It's cool we had Michael Carter-Williams and Cam Payne though. **** they are a terrible front office.Comment

I can’t see Marks paying 2 PGs next year and still have to get ready to pay LeVert next offseason.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
I was wondering if the Nets might make a mistake and let Dinwiddie get away, while chasing bigger fish. I was thinking that he could be a nice plan B piece for the Lakers to look at this off season, but the Nets front office is too savvy these days to make that kind of misstep.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment
