I wonder how skewed those team numbers are from the games Smith has missed completely here lately and Doncic getting more comfortable obviously playing better now than he would have in his first couple weeks of the season.

Also I wonder how those numbers looks as of now, they've lost 6 straight with Smith not playing and are no longer in the playoff picture.

He’s on a value contract for another 2-3 years, still has plenty of “upside” left and is still trying to learn the hardest position in the NBA.

Even I’m confused as to why they would give up on him so easily instead of giving him time.

Dennis has actually played a lot better in the 2 weeks prior to injuring his wrist. The first couple weeks of the season he wasn’t playing well at all. You could tell that he wasn’t used to playing without the ball. His defense was also really bad. He really started to turn it around though a couple weeks before his injury. His defense really picked up and he was playing much better without the ball. You could tell that he was accepting the coaching Carlisle was giving him.

It’s still really early to give up on him however he really isn’t the best fit next to Luka. I don’t believe they are just going to give DSJ away though. He’s still on his rookie deal so there is not rush to trade him.

Even if they do keep him though I think he will eventually end up coming off the bench. Jalen Brunson has been a perfect fit playing the PG position in the starting lineup with Luka. It will be interesting to see what the Mavs are able to get for Dennis.

Finally someone that can give Cleveland the mental edge over Golden State in the finals.

Since the league just sent out the anti tampering memo as a reminder... I agree with this dudes post

"Its ridiculous how the media runs with 'maybe', 'what if', 'how about' stories that are nothing but speculation. What happened to stories based in facts?

The NBA also needs to rethink their partnership with ESPN, who is by far the most guilty of any outlet of speculation based journalism."

LeBron said he would love to play with Anthony Davis. League execs were apparently calling the Pelicans upset that this was bad for them and other small market teams.

Where does speculation based reporting come into play here? Also the phrase "guilty of speculation-based journalism" is hilarious to me.

League ain’t gonna do nothing because they know the fans love it.

Player movement and rumors of player movement are a big part of the game’s popularity so why would they try to put a stop to this?

Nothing was done, however but they have hit Magic, MJ among others with fines for even mentioning players names.

The NBA bylaws governing players states: "Any Player who, directly or indirectly, entices, induces, persuades or attempts to entice, induce or persuade any Player, Coach, Trainer, General Manager, or any other person who is under contract to any other Member of the Association to enter into negotiations for or relating to his services shall, on being charged with such tampering, should be given an opportunity to answer to such charges after due notice and the Commissioner shall have the power to decide whether or not the charges have been sustained ..."

That's pretty clear, however, LeBron himself wasn't even the one to bring the AD thing up. ESPN always starts the fake trade rumors and even cycle the stories on a continual basis.

Exactly, even this "warning" was originally reported as an essential rumor

It was the media that asked LeBron if he would want to play with Davis.

And it was the media that exaggerated LeBron's response by speculating that he was recruiting Davis.

I didn't watch ESPN but I will assume because it's ESPN they based several of their programs and articles around LeBron and Anthony Davis. So they manufactured a rumor and profited off it.

I don't see the harm I guess, this stuff is so easy to avoid if you don't want to see it. Everyone is playing their role, no one is in trouble, the league and ESPN both profit off of stuff like this. I don't think the league is filing this under "Problem".

Didnt Giannis straight up say "come play with us" after their game that same week? I guess its OK if it's small market to small market talk. [emoji38]
