The most annoying part of this whole ordeal is that there was no need to rush into anything. We had our picks, and could have continued getting better through drafting and development of the young guys. To further bolster the roster we could have just waited for players becoming free agents and if they decided not to come (ala PG), no big deal. Stick with the original plan.

But then we go and sign LeBron. And everything is now now now. Gut the entire team to try to land one guy who could have possibly come over in free agency anyway. I would have very much welcomed a 4th year Lonzo to Davis connection. Hell we could have tanked another year and looked to add Zion our damn selves, no LeBron needed. And we'd be looking at a starting squad of Zo, Ingram, Zion (or whoever Lakers drafted), Kuzma, and Davis. That's a terribly bright future.

But mfers ain't patient, unwilling to play the long game. And when LeBron leaves, we're going to look like Cleveland and Miami did when he left. A team in ruins. I'm just annoyed right now lol

If they land Anthony Davis they should be fine post-LeBron, and that is probably the reason they are so all-in on him in particular.

              Not necessarily true.

The Pels have had Anthony Davis playing as one of the top players in the league for years now. And that hasn't amounted to anything more than a few a couple playoff births with early exits.

It takes more than one guy which you know for sure. And we would have been in a much better position to build around him with what we had currently and would have been able to add going forward if we just stayed the course.

If we trade him for got damn EVERYTHING, when LeBron is gone, he's going to be worse off than he was with the Pels.

But when LeBron leaves you're still the Lakers, with Anthony Davis, with maybe a championship, and with LeBron's 40 mil coming off the books... That would be a much more attractive Free Agent market than New Orleans.

Would've been better to add a couple stars with the team they already had including Julius Randle

They used to be fun to watch but not like this.

Y'all are acting like it's just gonna be LeBron and AD, lol. Maybe that's true this year but they will have a ton of cap room in the offseason that they can fill their roster out with. They're probably gonna swing for the fences for a 3rd star but if not, they have lots of cap room to fill the roster out with depth.

It's pretty crazy though. I thought Lakers looked like a contender Christmas Day. Who knows if they're this aggressive after AD if LeBron never gets hurt?

Truth is I prefered the path the lakers were on before James arrived.
Agree with everything but the AD isn't a once in a lifetime guy even then he's always injured.

I knew once the LeBron signing was made official what was going to follow and my viewership of our games went way down this year due to getting rdr2 late and knowing a bulk of the roster could be changing just like that.

Idk why actual LA fans keep getting lumped in with LeBron fans either. We don't overrate our youth but I'd prefer our youth, draft picks and cap space to fill in stars around the young core over what comes with LeBron. We just got out of being stuck not too long ago and by the time Bron's contract is up or he's ready to retire we'll be stuck again ala Miami/Cavs a bunch of ****ty Bron guy contracts with no cap space and draft picks for a while

                        @FletcherWDSU

Right now Dell Demps (and Danny Ferry, who’s very much involved in all aspects of Anthony Davis trade situation) are NOT taking Lakers offer @BA_Turner first reported.

Some in Pels organization want LA deal.

I’m told NOLA believes it can get Tatum this summer.

^^This was every Knicks fan prior to them acquiring Melo from the Nuggets. I, and others, found ourselves saying "How could you give up on Danilo Galinari so soon?"

Man..ain't no rebuilding with the Lakers. There have too many corporate interests to sit around watching the draft lottery every year. Kobe carried them to a title without Shaq and outside of Pau..a bunch of throw-ins.

Time to accept reality. The biggest free agent ever wanted to sign with your team. Embrace it. Also accept the fact that Lonzo is not that good. Lonzo, Kuz, and Ingr..well...have potential to grow and develop..just not on the Lakers' timetable. It is what it is.

There aren't that many good players in the league and you have one of the best wanting to join your team. Could be much, much worse.

You're assuming. Nobody thinks if they add AD this year that we are going to win a championship this year. And next year, LeBron is just going to be a little older...a little slower.

And to bank on "It's the Lakers/LA...free agent destination yada yada" hasn't borne any fruit. We signed SHAQ and then 20 sumn odd years later, LeBron. That's as false a narrative as there has ever been. Definitely not something the Lakers should be banking on as their strategy to get better.

Its just as easy to get stuck in "We're going to get a high pick, develop our players, clear 2-3 max spots (to pay Dengs and Mosgovs)" hell over and over again....

The Lakers have had one of the worst winning % in.....sports the last 4-5 years?

I see it as tangible progress that you've 1) Actually got a superstar back in LA 2) Have now attracted another due to that fact...its now more reality than the Laker mystique they've been trying to sell the last couple of years.

                              better than treadmilling man.
