    Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread

2019 hasn't been kind to NOLA sports fans between the Saints getting screwed in the NFC Championship and now this. My boy here at work and I have opposing views on the timing of this. I think that this came out now because AD is trying to force his way to L.A. before Boston can throw their hat in the ring. And my boy says that none of the reports say that AD wants out now. He thinks that AD is just letting Demps know his intentions so he don't blow the teams future by trading 1st for a marginal player to play with AD now. Me thinks he saying this because he wants Tatum over what L.A. is going to offer.

The only way I see him going to the Lakers would be if he says that’s where he wants to be and they do him a solid.. but all these rumors and none of them have anything to do with him actually saying he wants to go to the Lakers.

What about Golden State offering up some sort of Draymond package.. just what the league needs lol.

Forget about Anthony Davis. At this point I would settle for a Ricky Davis/Gordon Hayward swap.

As long as Time Lord is still in green on February 9th, then we will be okay.

Yes and no. Yes we’ve all anticipated this and yes they probably should have been making calls, but at the same time if you’re a front office, can you really “work the phones” with your superstar player in your small market city who hasn’t said or done anything to you about not wanting to be there and have it get leaked out to the media that YOU’RE trying to trade HIM and any hope of him staying went out the window because he found out on ESPN that you were shopping him? You really want to give the player the power to shape the narrative about his departure and put yourself on the fans’ hot seat with every move you make moving forward because you’re the front office that chased the superstar away?

Don’t take this from me man. I literally have nothing else from the NBA right now. I know how this movie ends. I just wanna be lost in the ride for right now tho

Well if this was 2K Pelicans couldn't trade AD anyway cause he's injured.

Lakers fans have no choice to unload everything for AD.

So I know the Lakers are the obvious landing spot for numerous reasons. But am I the only one that things their “everything” isn’t even all that good? I just don’t see it.

If the lakers package is 2 of 3 between Ball, Ingram, Kuzma plus Zubac and a 1st then that's a offer some team likely can match.

The Knicks might trade their 1st for him and They can wait till the summer and get Boston in the mix. I'm sure other teams would join the mix as well and offer a lottery pick plus some young pieces.

I'd rather throw in Ingram instead of Ball but I think you have to trade anyone not named LeBron to get AD at this point.

I got a feeling Bob Myers gonna come out of nowhere though and offer up Klay + Boogie or Klay + Draymond and NO will just say **** it and accept to watch the world burn even more.

A little bird with industry connections told me AD is adamant about avoiding Boston. He does not want to play there. If it comes close to happening he will say/leak that he will not re-sign with Boston in an effort to sabotage a deal.

Sounds like it's LA or bust.

Just from the math side of things Livingston and Green would work

The Lakers shouldn't hesitate to unload anything and everything not named LeBron in this deal. Kuzma is a nice player. Ball, Ingram, Zubac...whatever.

I'd make the deal in that Score report ASAP.

Would have to include KCP and/or a 3rd team to make this work money wise I believe.

Ideally I think keeping Kuz>Ingram would be best for them, but with landing AD I'm not sure where Kuz fits. They start Ingram at shooting guard when they are whole, while Kuzma fits somewhat of the same roles they would get from AD, Bron, JaVale, Tyson.. would be an awkward fit unless they just rarely played their bigs.

I think losing Ball would be a blow, but it's for adding AD so it depends I guess how much better people would feel AD can make them. Is he worth 3-4 "key" players... This does open the door for the Lakers to add another player or two off the buyout market while also keeping BI and Hart from their "young core"..
